it's about perseverence~ not giving up even when everything is going against you, and....pushing your way through anyway. but i think most people can tell >.< on to details... "When I close my eyes, everything seems to turn into lies." insecurity, perhaps. "As long as I keep my eyes forward And push on straight ahead without stumbling on my way. If I do that, one day I'll probably be able to catch up with those clouds, too" being hopeful "Then, I'll change it all, these really useless and boring values and predudice." this is what miyavism stands for!! *so proud that im a fan of miyavi* miyavi seems to be clearly stating what he is exactly aiming to achieve with his music; to change people, and destroy prejudice as much as possible. in interviews he mentions something about destroying prejudice (i assume social) against visual kei. from his music i also guess he's out to destroy racial prejudice. he's trying to be like a bridge between japan and the rest of the world or something...~ "No such thing as a meaningless, worthless or stupid dream, I'll show you." maybe his idea of wanting to destroy all those prejudice often gets mocked/criticised. seems like quite a tall order after all, to have one man change the world. this shows his determination....he won't be discouraged by criticism "I wonder how long I should keep on walking I wonder how far I've walked 'til now Even if you look back, this wilderness keeps on getting bigger and the path ahead keeps going on On this road of lonliness, I start to think" miyavi might be insecure. after all he's mostly solo, (of course he has the support of all his fans and other members of the myv team) but he doesn't have say, a permanent bandmate or something like that, so that they can fight hand in hand. (i think?) it's natural that there are occasions where he feels alone. maybe he doesn't really have an exact, clear-cut 'plan' to achieve his goals, so he's scared. and he keeps himself busy with going around trying doing things in hope of succeeding. maybe sometimes, when he thinks about what he's done in the past, he thinks it's all crazy. "Even if life is full of pain and suffering, meeting you wan't such a bad thing, so long as it keeps my mind of it all. So just for a bit more, won't you stay and not let go of my hand?" well, i have two intrepretations for this section. 'you' could be either us fans, or a specific somebody who means a lot to him. because miyavi always talks about how much his fans mean to him...see now, if he wanted to destroy prejudice, he needs people to help him right? like, he wants to change people, so first he needs people to start listening to what he wants to say. fans are people. if that's the case, he's asking us to hold his hand fot 'just a bit more', kind of like, "do you mind lending me your support a little more?" he's makin a humble request... it'll also make sense, i guess, if he's addressing somebody special to him here. feeling insecure and lonely, he needs that person to stay with him, lend him support, comfort, accompany him...a well for me...i think myv's really brave...>.< he's actually telling people that he is scared, and he needs our support. yeah..i think. or maybe all my intrepretations are 'wrong.' lol. >.< miyavi. rocks. :D |

i think myv dont get enough comments on this site ^^;; well..like most others who commented, i love this song...says a lot about "freedom" doesn't it XD as for the meaning, i think it is clear to most - it's a sarcastic attack on what many people like to call "freedom"... imo the two main ideas miyavi seems to address is...well firstly, many people complain about their lack of freedom - but in reality there's a lot of things they are "free" to do... "You say 'freedom' this and 'freedom' that but what's that sitting right next to you?" the second one is that many people fight for "freedom" and "rights" but in the end, the people "high up"(like, corrupt governors for example) will abuse the "freedom." "Freedom of Blame! Freedom of Abuse! spending money we don't have, every last penny" well...in the end, everybody has a different stance on freedom and rights, so i believe everybody will interpret this song a little differently, but the main idea is usually the same - that "freedom" isn't the best thing on earth..that the concept of rights and freedom gets misused...that "freedom" is usually taken for granted. everything is just in my opinion >.< don't flame me if it's "wrong" or something *meep* |

actually i doubt the accuracy of the lyrics >.< i found two different lyrics, one in a forum post, one on a youtube video...and they both seemed "wrong" in a few places so i editted them both into one lyric =X okay~ my interpretion...it's probably about betrayal. the idea of being lied to is repeated through the song... "i throw myself" - well for this..i thought of a few possibilites. 1.i throw myself away and give all of me to you, i trust you completely 2.literally, i throw myself - thrown against something, or onto something, self-hurting. "i do rip, why do rip suddenly or errant lie" - the lies are ripping "me" apart...then the speaker also wonders if the lies began "suddenly" or "errant" - did "you" start to lie without warning? did "you" lie only just this once(a deviation from the normal way you treat "me"?) (i think here, the speaker is still confused by the entire situation - when you just realise you been betrayed, you are very confused at first.) "you believe too many lies" - speaker talking to self. "o i pray sigh night hide away" - first the speaker "prays" - an indication that s/he is trying to find hope, then gives up with a sigh, finally at night(perhaps an indication of "in the end") i choose to try to hide away from the situation "i know the reason why the sacred lie, and rely and rely do you rip for, and do rip sacred lie" deep down, "i" know why "you" are lying...but "i" still rely on you. then the speaker questions if you "rip" when you "sacred lie" - "i" wonder if "you" hurt when "you" lie to "me." i choose, ... choose fake LIE well the speaker is aware that s/he is being lied to...but chooses self-deceit anyway... "chain by myself i know" afterall, the speaker realises that s/he is "chaining" him/herself to the lies...because that person cannot break free from the lies... as for the lie itself, it may be a literal bluff, or it may be something like "you gave me false hope" - the hope was a lie. i choose to believe the one about false hope, because then more likely is the person unable to break away from the lies..because this person has lost all hope, and although s/he knows s/he's being lied to, s/he wants something to hold on to...and facing the fact that s/he is betrayed means that s/he has no hope left. well i don't really understand the lyrics very well myself, this is just imo >.< my interpretion is also greatly reliant on how i relate to this song too, so i'm probably inaccurate haha. of course i am welcome to see what others think...*please don't kill me if my interpretion sounds lame* btw i love HPP, they are a very good band, anza's vocals are very piercing and the instruments very...the emotions in the emotions, i dono how to describe them lol >.< the entire compositions of their songs convey "sad" emotions(like pain, hurt, disappointment, despair, etc) very well... i'm not very good with words, i hope i didn't put a wrong message across x_x |
