| Daughtry – No Surprise Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| here's my perspective. i think this song has more to do with going to war and the outcome of it. maybe that's why the video ends with the couple sitting apart on opposite sides of the same rock. can't seem to see eye to eye. and maybe the black bird was used to symbolize hope and promise for the future. | |

| Rob Thomas – Her Diamonds Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| rob's wife has been sick 6 years of the 10 years they've been together. so it has been a long battle for both. i think he tries to put himself in her shoes, feel what she's feeling, so she doesn't have to feel alone. he's right there with her. | |

i think the title of the song speaks for itself. never say never because the future can always change... based on what we decide. some minds change like seasons. the more you learn, the more you realize how less you know. just when you had it all figured out. "This is a direct love song between two people who are "pulling apart and coming together again and again." Whilst guitarist Joe King's marriage predates the band, the other three members got married between the release of their 2005 debut set How to Save a Life, and their 2009 self-titled sophomore release. Guitarist Dave Welsh noted in publicity materials: "Trying to have these two things coexist — traveling in a band for nine or 10 months out of the year, and having a wife at home who's trying to go about this other life she has — is fascinatingly difficult. If you could put your finger on one thing that's been hard or a challenge, that would be it." --SongFacts |

the grass is always greener on the other side..........when you're riding out the lows of life. sure, he's not wealthy in the ways that matter in the grand scheme of things. but he's in a position to help others and that's his destiny. he knows that and he's choosing to follow it. |

| Kelly Clarkson – Already Gone Lyrics | 16 years ago |

the couple have already broken up. the singer ended the relationship FOR the other person. but in hindsight, the singer sounds like she has doubts. to bury the sad feelings, the singer is rationalizing that "it was never meant to be". she's not trying to convince the other person, she's trying to convince herself. she has regrets! i hope this becomes a single. i'd like to see the video for it. |

| Coldplay – Lost! Lyrics | 17 years ago |

just because life is spinning out of control (the external), doesn't mean you have to lose control of who you are, doesn't mean it can/has to affect you (the internal) speaking to the ego: don't compare yourself because you will eventually meet or come across someone who is better and faster than you are. keep your focus and do your best. "just waiting til the shine wears off" waiting for the dust to settle. waiting for the ending of another(this) era. everything in life is temporary. the good, but also the bad. (probably waiting for the papz to stop bothering his family, when he can make music without all the unnecessary jazz) this is just the gist of it, some parts i still don't understand most artists like to leave their music open to interpretatation or worse start spitting half-truths of what the song is actually about, but i'm always interested in where the writer's head was at, how they were feeling and why when they wrote it. |

| Kanye West – Love Lockdown Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I see several storylines (or stages of a relationship) within this song. But at the core of it, I think this song is about unrequited love, the love of his life. Love is about putting someone's happiness before your own. And that's why he's gotta keep his emotions in check. He loves this girl, but the life that he leads would ruin hers in some way if not entirely (ie. his mom). So he's being harsh, pushing her away, telling her to move on, telling her he's gonna move on--tough love--it's all for her sake, to keep her safe. It's very tragic. They both lose. He will always love her, secretly. Although it's not necessarily a secret to her. She secretly knows. "only God knows, If I be with you, baby...You choose, you choose" He's gonna let fate run its course. This song reminds me of 'Stronger'. |
