I mostly agree with you...a lot of the song is the speaker trying to push himself through life/a difficult period, to continue on for whatever motivation he has. However, even though the song gradually unlayers itself, and his voice becomes a whisper, I feel that his strength is still present. The climax is indeed his desperation exploding, and I think he takes the energy he made from the climax and becomes focused again on the fact that he can still continue living.
It's a very beautiful song. :) |
