John Frusciante – One More Of Me Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this is about death and the state of being who we are. This is really trying to tell us how we work and how life works really.

Things only happen once, we just recreate it after that.

I interpret this as John is embracing his belief of God, and his belief of God in every man and woman. Thus creating a strong image of Jesus/God himself when he says "I hear all of your prayers because I am each one of you" among other hints and weaker saying throughout the song.

emasame, I don't think that is the question but I can sort of understand where you come back. John has symbolically related himself to Jesus before (as a man who lived, died, and was reborn) and acknowledges on "God" that God exists (though he is taking a first person point of view, but also has another symbolic comparison to Jesus and also just being a regular human)

I believe the real meaning of the song is questioning how things have come to be, why things exist, why things don't exist, and what is the threshold of nothingness.

Dmen, I think it is one of the driving points of a 'sub-interpretation' of the album. I see it in 2 MAJOR stories. the more obvious 1) Looking back on love. The more discreet meaning, number 2, is that he took heroine again for some reason but only once or something and this is his guilt of taking it or how many bad memories it induced (see: One More of Me where it reverts back to Smiles/Niandra Lades esque music structure and lyrics)

As far as the line itself, "Hit me where I turn white" Is probably where he used to shoot up all the time/the one time he may have gone back to it for whatever reason.
