| how are there not more comments for this song? it's so good to me. Especially when you really need someone to shine the light on you. To me, it's about reawakening after a period of feeling so helpless and somebody lifting you out of the darkness. That's kind of obvious, but still so good. | |

I imagine that this song was written during a time that should have been full of fresh beginnings, and instead is taking place in the aftermath of a series of catastrophic events. It would be foolish to assume that there is only one particular kind of loss that is being experienced. The "king" is certainly the representation of the a time when the world could be admired guilelessly, and dreams were appropriately unattainable. The death that takes place is of this ideal state of mind. It is the moment when you realize that the entire world you've created for yourself is made of dust. A miscarriage is a good way of putting it, but it could also include a miscarriage of anything you spent your life looking forward to, only to wake up and find out it never existed in the first place. "I can't see the landscape, please describe it's amarathine haze" - an amaranth is an imaginary flower that never fades. And yet, it's not until you realize it doesn't exist that it's actually gone. The rest of the song is so good at illuminating the depression that occurs afterwards; It's worse than death, because you are aware of your existence, but there is no life, only a ghost left. All you can do is "pray for sun quenched golden days" Like he says in another song, it's the people who don't know how lucky they are that are truly the luckiest. Ignorance is bliss. |

| This song is so good, especially because it speaks to all the "hipsters" that like this music because they think it makes them better than everyone who listens to more mainstream. it's better to share music with people than to hold yourself above them because you think it makes you trendy. nah mean? | |
