i think this song was perfect for the prom scene. it lent the deepness and romance that scene required and overrode the cheesiness of that "shallow american tradition". kristen stewart was a genius for thinking of it. guess that means i have about as much emotional capacity as dry wall too, huh? or maybe it's just another opinion. |

i was totally kidding. it's just that on every single song, there's always someone that puts that. just wanted my chance! ;) but yeah, i know it's not about drugs. |

i am totally and completely in love with this song, which is weird for a remake, cuz remakes are usually not as good as the original. but this is better, i think! brendon's voice is perfect for this song. |

this to me just screams all those old fairy tales, like the big bad wolf and the rhyme about the old lady with the empty cupboards and she can't give her dog a bone or something like that. wish i could remember it. anyways, i love this song. i love the whole album, better than the first. the beatles and broadway influences are so obvious. :P i love love love it! <3 |

what is this song about? he got it on with a girl, then she told him to leave, but he wouldn't, so she leaves him, and in a fit of embarassment and anger, he burns her stuff. i think the line "or, should i say, she once had me" refers to him embarassingly admitting that she wore the pants in the relationship and left him. plain and simple. |

i listened to this song after one of my friends mentioned it- she said i have "kaleidoscope eyes" because they change colors and have been every concievable color at some poing in time. anyhoo, so i listened to it to figure out what she was talking about and i love it. it's amazing, and i really don't care if the inspiration was lsd or a kid's drawing or both. what i wanna know is how everyone managed to drag this out over seven years. just get over it already!
also, has anyone ever noticed that lucy was also mentioned in "i am the walrus" in the line "see how they fly/ LIKE LUCY IN THE SKY"? who is this lucy chick and why is she so important? that's what i wanna know. |

| Jack's Mannequin – Dark Blue Lyrics

i'd never even heard of jack's mannequin til i heard this song on pandora. i loved it so much, and i went searching for some of his other songs, and he's fantastic, one of my favorite artists...
...so, when i first heard this song i thought it was about loneliness and how depressed and horrible and crushed it makes you feel, like you're at the bottom of the ocean. but then you realize that even though you feel lonely, that there are many other people like you, and you're really not alone at all. and once you get that thru your head you feel invincible, like you could literally box the stars if you wanted to. i dunno, it feels like a shout-out to all the depressed people in the world, telling them that it's cool, they're not as alone as they think they are, like a world-wide love letter.
yeah, that's just my translation. anyone agree? |
