| The Alan Parsons Project – Old And Wise Lyrics | 9 years ago |

Here's my version of what this song could mean: Like many people, I used to think it was about someone on his death bed, saying goodbye to his loved ones. Now, looking deeper, I think it's about forgivenes, or being unable to forgive at this point, but being hopefull that one day, when he's old and wise, he will be able to say that the person was a friend. And at that moment, the sadness will be lifted from his eyes, as he is finally freed from the bad feelings of holding on to a grudge. In fact, the song can easily be about someone who has been gossiped about so bad that he can no longer stay where he is, and has a hard time dealing with that. In more detail: "As far as my eyes can see, there are shadows approaching me" This to me would be the shadow of bad feelings towards someone, or maybe more than one person. "And to those I left behind, I wanted you to know You've always shared my deepest thoughts, you follow where I go" My interpretation is that he wants them to know that he has always been honest to them, and that he will always keep them in his thoughts. "And oh, when I'm old and wise, Little words mean little to me, Autumn winds will blow right through me" One day, when he has had the time to heal from what happened, he will be able to look back and not be touched by it all. "And someday, in the mist of time, When they ask me if I knew you, I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine. And the sadness would be lifted from my eyes. Oh, when I'm old and wise". He will one day be able to talk about it, and just remember that they were his friends, instead of that feeling being clouded by what happened. "As far as my eyes can see, there are shadows surrounding me" The bad feelings have grown stronger as his goodbye comes closer and more definitive. "And to those I leave behind, I want all you to know You've always shared my darkest hours, I'll mis you when I go" He tells them again that he was always an open book, even through bad times and that he will miss them. "And oh, when I'm old and wise Heavy words that tossed and blew me Like Autumn winds that will blow right through me" Actually now talking about how hurt he is at this moment, but also that one day it will not touch him anymore" "And someday in the mist of time When they ask you if you knew me Remember that you were a friend of mine" A last hope that they will one day remember that he was a friend. "As the final curtain falls before my eyes Oh when I'm old and wise" Now talking about when he will die, and hoping he will die peacefully, knowing he is forgiven, and that he HAS forgiven. |

| Eagles – Learn To Be Still Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Totally contradicting the last comment, I think this song is trying to tell us that we should learn to stand on our own two feet again. Being whole as a person, not relying on a(nother) made up messiah, but instead trusting that we ourselves are important. I think this song is about how people don't appreciate what they have, and putting their wellbeing in the hands of whoever they call messiah, no matter who they think that is, and thus giving away responsibility over their lives, while blaming whatever it is they gave this responsibility to for everything that's wrong in their lives. | |

| For me this song is all about what it says: wanting more and more, trying to fill the holes you feel. And even though you can have everything there is to own, still that feeling remains. When I heard this song for the first time I thought it was just a bit strange, but recently I started to appreciate it for it's lyrics, and then for the music, as it complements the lyrics in a good and funny way. | |

I know! So what's your interpretation? ;-) I think it's about finally deciding to be who you are, no longer trying to blend in with the masses. Finally speaking your mind, telling what you think |

One of the most beautiful songs I heard in a while! I think it's about how the main person used to be closed, not trusting peiople with there inner feelings, but now found the one love, a true miracle, that makes them open for true love, without defences. |

| To me this song is about the hard times in a relationship. And how at those times you need to coinsider both options: Love or Leave | |

I feel there are three ways to interpret these lyrics. First as the comforting words a person says to his or her boyfriend, girlfriend, son, daughter, or anyone else close. Then the words of a deceased person who is telling the one they love that they will always watch over them. Then there is the one I personally like: Who is always there, even when you're all alone and felling lonely, everywhere you go and whatever you do or think? It's you! |

| LeAnn Rimes – Save Myself Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I just love this song! For me it's about embracing life as it comes at you, and just live, instead of surviving. This really is a message to most people, as we all have learned to survive, just work to stay alive, while we actually forget to LIVE! | |
| LeAnn Rimes – A Little More Time Lyrics | 17 years ago |

How you just keep running, doing the things you think the world expects from you, or just running away from facing yourself, this song is about taking time to get to know yourself and making piece with every aspect of who you are. People around give their 'remedies', or advice on how to cope with life, but she only needs time alone, away from all these people, work, family, etc. Just finding out what she wants and who she is. |

| LeAnn Rimes – Everybody's Someone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| For me this song is about knowing that every single person in this world matters. Everybody has something that other people can admire. I think it's very true. Beautiful song! | |
| Poets Of The Fall – Where Do We Draw The Line Lyrics | 17 years ago |

This really is a beautiful song, one of the best ever! For me it's about the girl having lost her love for the guy and already looking out for a new guy to replace him. And he is just waiting for her to say those final words, unable to take control of the situation, not knowing when it's time to go. He feels lost and is in need of love and security, but everything is gone. Had some emotional moments listening to this... |

Coming out of a relationship like this I can very much relate to these lyrics... Got to know her on the internet, then we met and we got into a relationship, but then the real person came out after a while. All of a sudden my dreams were not important anymore, what I needed, who I was, everything seemed unimportant to her. Why for me it is about this: When you paint me an image of who you are, I know it's the best by far. That is really what people do on the internet. But when you meet a lot of other things come out that you didn't bargain for. "when my needs go through downsizing I need someone to pick up my beat. My dreams need realizing." That for me is about her wanting to control me and bind me to her in an unhealthy way, taking all dreams and freedom away. I needed someone to motivate me to pick up my life and dreams again after this relationship. I can say more about these lyrics and their parallel with my experiences, but I think this is enough for now ;-) |

| Poets Of The Fall – Dawn Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Clearly this is about holding on when things get rough in life, not looking back and depending on the people around you, who love and support you. And looking at all the new doors that open at that point in life. | |
| Poets Of The Fall – The Beautiful Ones Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| For me this song is about how we always take advantage of people who want to help everyone. Even when they are burnt up people still keep asking and never stop and think for a minute that maybe they can do something back. Worse even, get angry when those golden-hearted people just can't do anything anymore. | |
