ever heard of 'war of the worlds' BUT the musical not the movie? its very much like that or so i imagine: having to start again in a new world but also on the surface theirs still people dying and bodies rotting away, "crumbling" if you knwo what im talking about, theres that bit about the girl who died but shes always sung about in the songs? "And i've had recurring nightmares That I was loved for who I am And missed the opportunity To be a better man" im not saying this song is based on it or ripping it off but its just what i see in the lyrics |

i think if you know what muse are really trying to get to in most of thier songs- if not, all. Theyre very political and they relate to a theory of a new world order, search it if you dont know yet! i can see where some comments have come from with a relation ship but in my opinion of it is more like this: "Shame on you For thinking You're all alone" & "Shame on you For thinking that you're an exception We're all to blame" were all as bad as eachother making the world a worse of a place with wars and destroying enviroments BUT where not exactly alone we got other creatures and things to worry about. I think there is also an 'aura' here about outer world beings too, hence the space talk of stars and being alone, abit mysterious hey? "Why can't you sleep with Someone who'll protect you" why cant you stay with someone who will protect you, someone who doesnt lie to you like a polition? |

Muse are obveusly onto the "N.W.O" New World Order and if your a big muse fan, you should have a pretty good idea of what it is about, its everywhere but check it out by all means, it could happen some time soon. exo-politics is another meaning for martiens and other extra terrestrial intelligence. MY opinoon on what this song is about is us, as a world being "invaded" or spied on by these beings: "When the Zetas fill the skies" "Fully loaded satellites Will conquer nothing but our minds" Well, i think this is double barrelled meaning: aliens being in the satellites using their equipment to obduct us and/or control our minds from up where they are. OR politics as we know them (world leaders) using satellites to control ourselves and tapping in on phones listening to us- it has been known! |
