"Chasing the dragon" is a term that means doing heroin.
Also," the dig in search for China / white..." it's a double entendre. 'Dig in search of China' is a reference to the phrase or wive's tale that if you dug a hole deep enough, you get to China. 'China white' is a kind of high-grade heroin. |

The only thing I could possibly say I dislike about Modest Mouse is the fact that I can't analyze their songs. The lyrics are so metaphorical and obscure that it's really impossible to try and interpret.
But maybe that's part of the beauty -- this song could mean anything. Perhaps the beauty is in the secret. |

Absolutely amazing piece of work, universally easy to relate to without being clichéd. I hope Emily Autumn realizes how brilliant she is to be able to compose a song that everyone can feel to a degree within themselves (especially females) and yet give it the unique sound she has.

I sincerely doubt this song is about vampires. Most grown men don't really give a shit about vampires, it's mostly young, starstruck Twilight Tweenies with nothing better to fantasize about. This song is completely plausible as being a rape song and doesn't have to be twisted into some gothic angst Aiden piece. I think it's very obviously a rape song. Now having made that decision, does that make me a messed up individual for finding it sexually arousing? Lol. |
