I find the placement of this song just after time bomb on the studio album really is suitable. time bomb seems so full of pain and anger, the first reaction to a horrible loss, this song then comes in and soothes the listener you get the sense that all that pain and anger have been felt and dealt with and what you are left with is a sense of peace if not understanding of loss. |

wow this song is full of pain. all the references to disbelief and requiring tangible proof before believing in something, it sounds like a horrible struggle. (possibly a reference to the pain of losing a loved one and having trouble coming to terms with the loss?) |

it feels to me as if he is saying wake up and realize that you cant just walk blindly in "faith" you must interact with the world see the flesh and blood of it. So many people only see the differences of everyone else and fail to see that underneath the difference of color or belief we are all flesh and blood and real and that we need each other as much as we need the intangible faith we cling so strongly to. that faith and humanity go hand in hand. i may be wrong but that is the beauty of DMB you can interperate in so many ways.

this song screems codependancy to me. in any relationship no matter how much you love eachother codependancy can ruin you and the only way to heal is to leave and make the decision to heal yourself and get your life together. she does not want to but knows it is the right thing to do so seh makes the choice even thoguh he will never understand. |
