I think you'll find this song is about Stuart Cable - for more recent Phonics fans, Stuart was the drummer who left the band (well, Kelly booted him out) a few years back, before Xavier joined. Kelly seems to be suggesting that Stuart "rode his tail" to success and never gave anything back in return - he was a bit of a lazy complainer who always wanted things his way, and Kelly couldn't take it any more. There was rather a long drawn out court case to reach a settlement, as Stuart sued for being unfairly sacked. Hence the references to him repeatedly lying, and not taking responsibility for his part in the breakdown of the friendship. Just my opinion obviously. |
