Stunning song. Quite personal (as no doubt to many). It was used for a Great Ormond Street ad (I think) with the obvious images to accompany it. I didn't expect to be a regular visitor myself. Possibly the only song I make a concious effort to avoid as it always brings tears to eyes.
My read to "Christmas Lights" is it's actually the monitors flashing lights reflecting in the child's eyes and off the plastic box. |

Just listened to these lyrics and re-read with new eyes. That second verse really sounds like a couple who are hidden away, having an affair, and know that when they find the courage to “come out” (And we'll walk from this dark room for the last time) then they can really start to live anew (We can do what we like anywhere). |

They could write lyrics about anything - so refreshing!
At times it seems like nonsense rhymes - Lewis Carroll reference perhaps? Along with the "tick tick" during the intro. |

Typical fun lyrics from a criminally under-rated band.
I love the delivery of the last line in the first verse. |

I've put the Old Cape Cod lyrics under Patti Page. And if you thought this was chilled, you should hear the original track... one of the oldies that still sounds great. |

One of the few tracks that made me worry if the speakers would hold out — the music is vicious and aggressive (loses an awful lot under MP3 compression). The first verse is brilliant and matches the music, but it really needed more. Followed by the angelic “aah”s of Blissed on the album, v clever juxtaposition. |

Muzzy - this is so not from one of their first albums lol! Agree with the comments on how good it is though, simple song stunningly executed. Comment on how their songs sound similar but always good - they always said they were just a straight rock n roll band who played loud. This song, like so many they wrote around that time, is simply about being on tour and missing their loved ones. |

Surprised there are no comments on this song. First one of theirs I heard, on a compilation album. Without that it would have taken years to discover them. Pretty obvious what it's about, as is most of their stuff. |

Wonderful track, takes me back to happy times with an ex. There's a really funny bit on their world wide live video when they talk about how they write songs, and this on in particular. That's probably one of the best live and backstage videos ever - great music and interesting / funny stuff throughout. |

This is credited to M Schenker and Uli Roth - Uli picked up a song that Michael had been working on before leaving the band, and added the ending. It's pretty clear when listening to it where the split happens. Absolutely stunning track. |

This is from their Lights Out album, one of my all time favourite albums and dreadfully under-rated. I always loved this song. M. Schenker was in the first Scorpions line-up, IIRC they supported UFO on some gigs and they poached him. He went back for a short time after Mogg & he had a bust up, then went on to form MSG. |
