I agree, though he does say he has multiple addictions. No matter what the addiction is, it is always going to wear people down like this. He says it so perfectly. I am so grateful for this song. |

First off, this song is ace. For me, it is the epitome of general goal of music - to make the listener feel something. It is so great when music revives you like that, when you need it the most. As far as my speculation goes, I am still trying to figure everything I can about the town of Madina Lake. So, we apparently have the reactions the town's inhabitants have to Adalia going missing in From them, through us, to you. Attics To Eden then continues that story, but still sticks to the main motif of good vs. evil. So, my interpretation of this song right now: The inhabitants are banding together to revive their lives after their celebrity obsession with Adalia. The music video for this song also supports that because the citizens with different occupations are all succeeding at whatever it is they work as, and then they all come together in the end. Maybe I am just slow with the whole idea that Adalia the bad or evil influence. I hate to think that she was after listening to the song Adalia. She just seemed utterly lost. She put on a front, but inside she had a lot of demons. A few of the citizens did truly care for her though, it just doesn't seem like she saw it, so she drowned herself (or disappeared? I'm still not sure). Anyway - for Never Take Us Alive - maybe the people are saying that they will not let Adalia's influences take their lives as well; not so much Adalia's influences, but her demons' influences. They are ending the cycle. It's quite glorious really. Well, if anyone has any more input, please share. I am a sucker for metaphorical stories. :] I read on Wikipedia that there was a website dedicated to the story, but I can't find it. Of course...that was on Wikipedia so... But if anyone knows what that is, please tell me. |
