To me this song is a social commentary on the effects of (for a lack of a better word) 'consumerism' & the hopeless feeling bred into the have nots. Rather than chasing our dreams through creativity & spirit we are forever in pursuit of ways to fill the gouge in our souls through insincere methods. We are the dogs being fed the bones. We are the ones whose morals are forgotten. Anyone who dares to think differently is ostracised (Y'all could use a doctor, who's sick?). Rather than nurturing any perceived madness & channeling it into great art they are generally overlooked as non functioning members of society because running with the crowd is not an option. "This is beginning to feel like the dawn of the luz of forever" to me means that we are coming to a point where this feeling is beginning to be challenged - we can either end up having the light blow us up or generate new perceptions. Sorry, was pressed for time & could write about this song in greater detail, but wanted to get something down quickly as I'm interested in other views on the matter & what is made of my view. |
