I really like this song but I don't think the lyrics are as literal as people are saying. I think the suicide bomber thing is more a metaphor for taking people down with him. It doesn't really explain the reasons for the situation but I can imagine that he has been betrayed by a group of friends and is now in trouble because of it, so he's basically saying "well im in trouble now but i'll take you lot down with me, all the good times we had mean nothing now". But I dont think its actually got anything to do with hime feeling suicidal. |

I always took it as being about a woman who's husband had been away for a long time. She guessed that he'd went off with another woman but later finds out that he killed himself. The line "this week is what he tells her to keep her on loan" suggests that he'd know for a long time that he was going to do it. The first verse is describing her waiting around not knowing when he's coming back The second she decides that he must have left her The third she's gotten word that a body has been found and she realises that its more than likely her husband |
