Wow! This is definetly one of my favorite songs by Close Your Eyes. I think it's about our calling to shine for Jesus in our faith, and not conform to this world. I think it is talking about a person who was apathetic in their faith, who was woken up by Jesus in their lives. |

I can't really see how idolizing people makes it into the lyrics of this song, but the lines "We're composing our funeral songs, note by note. With this I declare that tommorow is an illusion" is just so awesome and true! Great lyrics |

Well the basis of the whole song is fairly obvious, as it is the same with the whole album. He is off touring while his girlfriend is at home, alone. She cannot take being left so often, but at the same time she knows that he can't come home because this is what he has to do to survive. She breaks up with him because she is so alone, and he is left there, doing what he has to do, but realizing that it caused him to lose the one he loves.
The worst part of this song is right after she breaks up with him, and everyone starts singing, becasue it shows that he is growing in popularity, and he got everything he wanted, but she left him, and it is too late for everything. It's just so heartwretching. This song is amazing, but it breaks my heart. |

Well, I get your point Cassay, but lets be fair, not every Christian band has to ALWAYS sing about God only, I mean a lot of Christian bands are in the mainstream now, and have "non-Christian" songs, even though that phrase in this context is a bit ridiculous, look at Relient K, Skillet, Switchfoot, FlyLeaf or Underoath, they all write songs that aren't necessarily about God, just sometimes they write about God, which sets them apart...I do get your point though, don't get me wrong |

This song is totally my favorite on both their albums. It is tied with Beating Hearts Baby at the very least. It has that old sound that is just so attractive. It really fits in with the album, the whole CD has that style, but not one song is the same. So Good! |

I don't understand why they never re-did this song after Buddha, its such a good song, better than most on Chesire Cat, of course it's not like Carousel or Wasting Time, but it still is great. |
