At first i thought this was about Andrew but then i read this on youtube.... I remember reading when jacks mannequin first formed that this was the first song andrew wrote after soco broke up and this is where they got the name jacks mannequin from because he wrote it for a kid named jack who had lukemia and he was diagnosed with it himself a few months later. hence, he is jacks mannequin. ive been looking for a way to hear this song for three years. im so glad he decided to finally start playing it |

I know a lot of people think that in the song his friends are backstabbing him, lying, etc. and that they're bad friends but when i saw Andrew live he said this song was about "amazing friends". So i think when he says "I've got friends who la la lie. will help me pull through" he is really saying that his friends are lying to him to make him feel better. Kinda like when your in middle school or something and you like someone and all your friends are telling you "oh he/she def. likes you" and you feel better because they give you that false hope and that helps you get through things. |

I am in love with this song. Andrew is such an amazing singer/writer. Anyways to me this song is about a relationship where the guy loves this girl so much and she loves him but he knows, for whatever reason, that they're not right for each other. He breaks it off but he's still on that fragile line where any little thing (a phone call, etc.) could cause him to change his mind and want to be with her again. So he's asking her not to "rescue" him because he's finally on the road to moving on and he knows that if she comes back he'll go right back to her. |
