| Damien Rice – 9 Crimes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| To understand what i am saying you will have to watch the video too, but i think it is mostly about people having an affair with each other, hence 'it's a small crime' and the title on the song 9 crimes and many other reasons, but i think it is about the woman then becoming pregnant and this shattering the facade of the affiar as seen in the video when the children pop the womans head/balloon with a sling shot, they were hiding it in secret but now the woman is pregnant and they don't know what to do. | |
| The Fray – Never Say Never Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I'm not totally sure what this song means. But to me it reminds me so much of the time right now because we're in our last few months of school and we're going to be saying goodbye to all of our best friends and this song just reminds me of the good the bad times, the things we'll never let go off. And also not wanting to let go of each other. I especially love the line 'younger now than we were before' as it reminds me so much of all the good times we've had. | |

| Oh yes im sure 'The century before you never could turn 21' is 'The century before you never could turn to anyone' (it would also make alot more sense) | |

I love this song cause it can mean so many different things to people. One of the things i thought it may be about is: A man fell in love with a woman and they were together for 5-6 years and had a young daughter but then the woman fell in love with another man but when he found out about the other man he left without so much as a kiss, while the other man and the woman got married and carrired on in life. I also this fits in with this verse The century before you never could turn 21 Years and years he waited just watching for a son For someone to go ahead, take the name he said Years and years he waited and a daughter came instead First of all i always thought 'son' to be 'sun' as i believe it changes the whole verse. I think the first two lines are about how the man waited so long to fall in love and have a child but when he did, the child probably took the other mans name which fits in with the 2nd and 3rd line, or maybe this could be about the fact that the other man took is child or his girlfriend. And i think the fourth means that after this he waited so long to fall in love again or have is woman back but then his daughter grown up turns up instead. Last but not least i think this is about birth and death and is the verse that also maybe lead me to think that the father had died at the begining and that actualy fits the song to, but it always fits dying at the end. Breathing comes in pairs Except for twice One begins and one's goodbye I think the lines are about birth and death, ow you always breath in and breath out except for your first breath and your last, so it could be about of you're going with the man dying at the start how his daughter was born as he died or maybe how his duaghter life is now starting in this new house while his ends. This brings me to the chorus That's enough for now, he should've never left you broken He should've held you, things your father never could do That's enough for now, he would've never left you broken He would've held you, things your father never told you I think the first bit is how the father should of stayed in touch with his daughter despite the break up, but because he wasnt they were things that he could never do. The second verse is about the fact that if the father was given the chance to stay with his child he would of but he never got the chance to tell his daughter this before he died. But i think that's enough for now is saying that he didnt do that the fact that he would of is enough. The daughter's father watches, quietly we assume He's not longer with us but he left this dusty room In your name and it's an honor, it's a shame but it's your honor Take it on your shoulder 'til you can find another The last verse i think actualy fits the end of the story, how after the daughter found her father while much older maybe she had a son, but her father now old died, which i think think is what the first line fits her father his still watching looking over his daughter and son and he left them his house in her name to honour and show the fact that he did care about his daughter, and i think he saying to the daughter to take this house until she can move on and find another. But that's enough for now, he never wanted to leave you broken He would've held you, things your father never told you That's enough for now, I would've never left you broken I would've held you, things your father never could do Words your father never told you I think this verse is telling the daughter that he never actualy wanted to leave his daughter wihtout a father and how presumable the grandson (the story teller in this song 'left my mothers mother')is telling his mum that. Anyway this is just one of the million interpritations of the song going thru ma head and i believe this is going to be one of the songs that mean different things to different people as i said i love this song and sorry for the spelling. |

i started t wonder if this song was about cizioty itself and everyone in it as everyone has had the feelings in the song described before, no matter who they are. Special as i saw the video there seemed to be different varions of the dancing people, like ones looking out to the stars (maybe scientist), some in suits, some dressed seeemingly as bandits, some on the floor on top of each other (yes you can imagen) with another dragging them away, but all the people are masked so i wondered if this was hiding the face of the person for a reason. What i say about this song being something that everyone has experienced is because of how i interperited it. It started with a low light Next thing I knew, they ripped me from my bed And then they took my blood type It left a strange impression in my head This verse i wasnt sure about, but i hazad a guess at it either being about being born, or getting hurt. You know that I was hoping That I could leave this star-crossed world behind (maybe he wants to leave his strange and confusing life behind) But when they cut me open I guess I changed my mind This one made more sense to me as i thought it to represent that everyone gets hurt and wants move on and leave people behind, but "But when they cut me open I guess I changed my mind" could represent the dfact that moving on isn't always good the new people may double crossed you, or you might get hurt in the new place and all you want to do is go back to where you were. And you know I might have just flown too far from the floor this time, 'cause they're calling me by my name And they're zipping white light beams Disregarding bombs and satellites This could be about relizing that you've gone to far in soething, maybe in an aguement, or away from home, and the last to lines i think just add to the caos and confusion of life, as you see on the news about war and science, basically the gouvernment and people just creating all this caos in life. Or it may be about people leaing the old ways and technolgie, forgetting about it as zipping white light beams seems modern and their using it while their diregarding the bombs and satilites, seen as old thech. And that was the turning point That was one lonely night I think this is simple about relizing you don't know what you've got till its gone (not to sound corny) relizing that you need to chanage your life as nearly everyone does. The star maker says it ain't so bad The dream maker's gonna make you mad The spaceman says "everybody look down it's all in your mind I think this may be about all the people in your life, each with their own opinion telling you different things, how some people comfort you (star maker) some people anger you (dream maker) and maybe some people bring you back down to Earth (spaceman). But now I'm back at home and I'm looking forward to this life I live You know it's gonna haunt me So hesitation to this life I give I think this maybe about, a person finally sorting out their life making it back home and finally looking forward to life after the chaos but knowing that their past mistakes are going to haunt no matter how servere the arnt or are. You think you might cross over You're caught between the devil and the deep blue sea You better look it over Before you make that leap I think this is about being caught in the middle of life, good and bad, evil and good, right choice, wrong choice, and the fact that you're always caught betweent hem, and maybe hes just saying well think twice before you jump to a descision. And you know I'm fine But I hear those voices at night sometimes And they justify my claim And the public don't dwell on my transmission 'Cause it wasn't televised I think this may be a mixture of feeling as if you're going mad to some extent which many people go through, not being able to get your ideas and questions out into public but still iving with that voice in your head telling you its right. My global position systems are vocally addressed They say the Nile used to run from east to west They say the Nile used to run From east to west This verse confuses me the most, but i wondered if it was about how people can change their ways for good or bad. btw this is just my very confusing hazard a guess at this song lool , and sorry for the spelling =) |

When i first heard this song i always thought it to be the fact that the white boy had killed him self due to being bullied and everything, maybe he had hit his mum due to pressure, Mary had found him the sight of his body had shocked her for life as it would most people and also along witht he baby which may or may not of been the white boys had stolen her life as she cannot move on past the image of him dead and the baby. The words 'With his baggy pants and his legs in chains' i thought may actualy be christian as correct me if i'm wrong killing yourself is a great sin and 'chains' could of be represented as hell. Also i don't think he killed anyone i think 'he walked through that classroom door' is simple his body being carried out where everyone would of realized he was dead. Also strangely for sosme reason i never thought Greghad died but that he was one of the bullies who had bullied the white boy and due to his death he couldn't forgive himself and couldn't move on to carry out his carreer or maybe he had killed himslef too out of guilt. Or maybe he was killed by the gang members as those gang members had known he had bullied the white boy. |
