| Im not saying you do deal with anything i am just saying that a song can have so many meanings to different people and it is a persons mind set and past experiences that tell the story of what people see, this is really what this site is about, people share the meanings of the song to them, a song can mean 100 different things other than it's main meaning. The bible seems to speak differently on the matter and no offense but maybe you should read your bible more careful rather than taking one verse and using that one always, Romans 8:13 talks about death to the flesh, the evil ways of man, if every person was not sinful (which they are(Romans 3:23) there would be no need for salvation, hence no need for repentance, hence no need for a saviour. so man is evil and does no good without God in his life, so you should put to death the wicked ways of the flesh (Romans 8:13) and take up the cross (Luke 9:23) most of what i said is in reference to Luke 9:23 and Romans 8:13 and Romans 3:23, make sure to read them and have a good look |

Sorry if i belittle anyone's view in this song but here is what I see this song is about. Music is such a wondrous thing and one song can appeal to so many groups of people, it is amazing. If it isn't 100% clear what it is about then your brain will begin to interpret it, (this is why people have different views on the bible) People's interpretation of stuff is based on what they know, what they want, and what they believe. This song was written about money and i bet you, people that are having troubles with lust and sexual immorality will see it as about that. People that see it about material things and money will see it as that, if you have a problem, you will see it more in a song that someone else would...just my thoughts anyway, i could be way off, but that's what I see |

| The title says exactly where you are in this story of God vs Satan, it is the finisher, it is about God winning the battle for the last time against the devil....This whole song sends shivers up my spine, it is absolutely amazing. I think i read it before about someone explaining how this song says that satan is a tree shading us from Gods light...good stuff | |

I disagree, look at some of the most spiritually powerful songs, I hate you - Disciple and angel below - underoath, these song are sung diectly to satan but they still contain a very, very powerful christian message. To me this song is the devil talking and god responding, the Son Of The Morning album is a concept album and it follows the story of the final battle between and devil and God |

Most songs have really deep meanings that can have more than 1 meaning to other people except the person who wrote it, there for people can not rule out anything as i have seen a few people rule out the "god factor" I do believe this song is about a burden and i also believe it has a view of god in it, maybe agnostic? Mathew 3:2 quotes "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." the song quotes "REPENT, REPENT! THE END IS NIGH" i see the verse and the rhyme very similar half the meaning of repentance is praying for forgiveness "SO GET ON YOUR KNEES AND PRAY FOR FORGIVNESS" "But if i don't believe in him... why would he believe in me?" that is a very bold question that alot of agnostics ask when people say, "god loves you" so i am guessing this is describing a burden and he is wondering weather there is a God out there that can help him or weather or not he should leave it up to himself |
