I think the reason this song gets any controversy is simply because he says he doesn't listen to any white artists. The Rolling Stones and Hendrix were contemporaries and shared influences. The rest of the white bands he lists are shit. Limp Bizkit trash with a sprinkle of talent and korn is just boring and uncreative. Yeah Elvis copied his style from true artists who were mostly black. I really can't stand elvis at all to be honest. He to my knowledge gave no credit to anyone that actually created the style. Besides there is no power or feeling in his songs. Fuck your blue suede shoes. The only thing that really bothers me is that he says he listens to bad brains but mentions zero reggae bands. Without the reggae influences bad brains is a copy of all other hardcore bands which the vast majority of were white. |
