| This is a very christian song, and to whomever said that you can't overdose on God, you have never been to a good retreat. What i like about this song is how they make parallels to god like being comatose, or being dead without him, and getting an overdose of love. I think this song does a great job describing how god puts you on the high rails of life and without him, things just aren't the same. simply said in lines like, "You take the pain I feel". | |

I think this song, like many of skillet's songs has roots directly to the bible. There is one story where someone (i think its abram, but im not sure), goes into the mountains to find god. There is an earthquake, and god is not there, there is a fire, and god is not there, but then there is a soft wind, and god is there. I think that it talks about how god does not force himself to be front and center and make you look right at him, instead he is ready to give if we are ready to receive. Like they say in the song: "My love is just WAITING To turn your tears to roses" note how it says waiting, he is not saying, my love is taking your tears and making them roses forcibly, but instead, just waiting to have it done. Thats also why the song is called WHISPERS in the dark, not screams in the dark. "Light the night with stars", not put a giant beacon of light in the sky. |
