| I don't think it's religious in the least. I think she's being ironic. Jesus... where were you last night. How can you exist while this is happening? It's clearly about the degradation of women and people who have to sell themselves. Not necessarily prostitutes, but any situation where one has to "sell" themselves to get what they want/need. | |

I don't think this song is about being separated by distance at all. I think the narrator's partner is restless and impulsive. He/she wants to run, see, live, do... I think their relationship is on the rocks and he/she thinks if he/she runs away and lives hisher dreams all will be well. In the beginning of the song she's saying... you CAN leave this house leave this town... but she doesn't want him to. "ti think you should learn to dream just like the dreamers do" At the end she says you SHOULD leave this house leave this town... she wants him to love her with every step he takes, not just because it's a comfortable habit (we've all been there) and so she tells him to go! she realizes he needs to go "all that's left to chart is nothing less then your own heart..." and maybe then he will realize she's where he belongs after all. (The farther he gets.... the more he'll see) Just my two cents. |

I think {Vamped Vixen} hit it on the head. Dar's music is phenomenal because it's real. It's touching, funny, sad, poignant, meaningful, intelligent and true to her. This song helped me personally through my depression as a teen. The line "when i chose to live, there was no joy it's just a line I crossed..." I think you can only truly feel it if you've been there. This song described exactly how I felt. Perfect Dar. Just perfect. And thanks for signing my shoe =) |
