Chevelle – Forfeit Lyrics 15 years ago
"We gravitate toward making fun of big bruisers. That song "Forfeit" is all about when there's a mosh pit, you always have that big tough guy out there who's trying to kill people. That song is making fun of those people. It's like, "Yeah, I want you to jump around. Have a good time. . . . Vent. Go to a show and get lost for an hour or two in the music and enjoy. But don't go out and kick people's butts."

That is what Pete Loeffler said in an interview about the album "Wonder What's Next".

Karnivool – Mauseum Lyrics 15 years ago
Actually, I messed up the meaning a little, and i messed up two lines,Which were the last two.

the meaning: A father who has had an either recent, or very long falling out with his son is on his deathbed reflecting the fall out and is hoping his son will come to apologize for ignoring him all these years, so the father can apologize to his son so he can die in peace and not torment.

"I should have done something" means he should've have stopped himself from doing whatever cause this falling out.

"After I fall will you be there?" He's saying that after he either dies or gets in a tragic situation which gets him hurt, he wants his son to be there and possibly forgive him for doing him wrong, even if that means forgiving his father while he is dead.

Alright, i'm out.

Oh, and these lines:

"Shall I free it
Shall I be it?
Sometimes I miss you
I feel it
Reflect from within"

Fist line,He's saying that should he "free" his pain and perhaps take his life. The line after that is possibly him questioning himself trying to make himself apologize. The next line he is saying he misses his son, and wishes he didn't do that horrible thing. The next line, he is saying he can feel the need to apologize. And finally, the last line, is saying he's remembering how horrible he was to his sun and now he wants to apologize.

And the lines after that is the son telling himself that his dad will die, and if his father shows the will to live while is dying the force killing him will take him over. He then says that in the end no matter how many times his father apologizes, it wont mean shit to his son. Then, the last line, he realizes that his father is helpless on his deathbed and he should come to apologize.

But if this theory is wrong...then that would suck, because this is a pretty good interpretation of this song.

Karnivool – Mauseum Lyrics 15 years ago
Alright, this just happens to be my favorite Karnivool song. It sounds to me, like he may be talking about a falling out with a father and son, with this song through the father's eyes.

But, now on to the interpritation of some lyrics.

Fist the Chorus:

"From this Moses basket,

I should have felt something,

I should done something,

After I fall will you be there?"

Alright, the first line, "from this Moses basket" sound like he's saying something along the lines of from birth. "I should have felt something"...this one is a little tricky, but maybe is saying he should have known that this falling out between him and his son was going to happen, and that goes for the next line as well.

"After I fall will you be there?" This one, is near self explanatory, but i'll explain it anyway. He's saying after I die or get seriously messed up in a tragic accident, he's asking his son to be there so he can forgive him...

That's all i got

Is it just me, or does Pete not rhyme?

Visit again white elephant,
who sent you to the loom?
Shall we sever everything?
Ponder this why we ponder why.

No rhyming...but a very awesome unique style. Takes the hassle out of having to rhyme with words that have to make sense with the subject.

But, in case I'm somehow wrong, please reply.
