Fall Out Boy – America's Suitehearts Lyrics 17 years ago
totally agree except that i don't think celebrities rush the media, i feel it's the other way around.
this is made so by the mass consumer base for any kind of info on celebrities.
this is why certain shots of celebs are worth crazy amounts of money.
definitely not something celebs are looking for, but rather it's our society elevating them to some higher status in this way.
i view this song as commentary on this reality.
let's hear it for them, but what's it all worth anyway?

plain and simple, this is a song about american celebrity culture. self-absorption, masses of devoted sheeple, media blitzes, no sense of history ('dont know much about classic cars'), instant gratification ('classic coke' references)... 'i'm in love with my own sins' = especially true with reality tv, people seem to be attracted to human faults / it's become a huge industry etc.
