it's about a boy who loves a girl. the girl loves him back but she loves another boy more than him. so she goes to the one she loves more, but she just ends up getting hurt and heartbroken. she runs back to the one who actually loves her, and he takes her back instantly. but then she still wants to be with the wrong guy and so she goes back to him. she gets hurt again and goes back to the one who loves her. they do this for a while, and the one who loves her always accepts her back with open arms, knowing that it's only temporary. all because he loves her so much. this song really makes me upset but i love it. it reminds me of how i treated a guy and i'll always regret it. |

i don't think that this is about romantic love. i'm pretty sure that it's just platonic because when he says "waiting for the hint of a spark" like the spark between a couple - meaning that there isn't one now. he loves her, and doesn't want her to die alone, so he tells her that she doesn't have to worry because he'll follow her into the dark soon after. that she doesn't need to worry because they'll be together. i think the nun part was about the nun just telling him that no matter what, in love - you're going to be confused and have doubts and fears. but he disagrees because he knows that he loves his friend. there's nothing for her to be afraid of because he loves her, basically :) |

why is everyone is posting such angry and aggresive comments...? i don't think that the tide is actually water. i'm pretty sure that it represents life. it's just about 3 children who are very confused and who reflect the feelings of their mother. they're watching the tide [life], full of questions that they want answered but they never fully understand anything and never really experience anything. their mom is heartbroken and doesn't even notice the children anymore. she tells them about love and how it's a hoax and to never believe in it. eventually, the children drown and die [figuratively speaking] before they ever even lived. once they're gone, the mother realized how horrible she was to them and regrets that she never taught them about anything and she wants to tell them that love is real but it's too late. |

| I may be wrong, but I think that the "eyes all painted black" lyric may be referring to her running mascara from her crying in the bathroom. Although, I do agree with the drug addiction. I think she was in the crying in the bathroom so she started snorting cocaine. | |

I don't really believe that this song has anything to do with an eating disorder. I really think it's about a girl who starts doing cocaine because she's depressed and is looking for a way to cope. He tells her that the coke is temporary and can't make you happy ["the love I sell you in the evening, by the morning won't exist" - referring to cocaine as love]. He doesn't know why she's so upset and he doesn't want her to be addicted to it but he does understand why she's doing it, because he too is an addict. |

I think that the bars just symbolize the problems of everyday and being trapped by them. Someone is contemplating suicide so he tells her to just relax with him and to let the problems fade away. They'll drink together to just try and ignore everything for a couple hours. She'll always have those problems but he'll be there to help her in between them :) [i'll kiss you again between the bars] |

i think that this song is about two people just falling apart. they were high school rebels but he refused to give in to the pressure while she did. she changed to meet everyone elses standards instead of being herself. in the end though, he ended up getting in a lot of trouble with the cops. [i think that the first two verses are about lethal injection and him watching his life on the scene is like.. his life flashing before his eyes.] he knows that he made mistakes but he doesn't regret anything because he had fun doing it whereas when he sees her, he can see that she's slowly dying on the inside ["you're just a sad song with nothing to say about a life long wait for a hospital stay"] and that it would be better dying the way he is than the way she is. he still loves her and he knows that she feels the same way about him but she won't admit it or try to change the way things are. [i think that when he says "it was a lie when they smiled, and said you won't feel a thing" he's not talking about physical pain but more so emotional pain because he's going through all the old memories they shared.] it really is an amazing song. it's my favourite song off of the album. <3 |

| i think that this song is about a boy who is letting a girl know that he loves her ["threw you the obvious"]. the girl was really hurt in a previous relationship and is still in love with her ex lover to even notice him or to consider loving him ["expecting just a little bit too much from the wounded"]. but he loves her so much that he still tries to see if there is any possibility that she could ever love him but he realizes that she'll never get over him and that they can't be together. [he refers to trying to see what occurs behind the eyes of a fallen angel and says "apparently nothing at all" meaning that she has absolutely no feelings towards him] | |
