*Correction* - I believe the line goes "Hallowing the carcass" could be wrong, have to go check the insert later tonight though. And in the last line its "moan", and throughout, it's spelled "cement" not "cemment" whoever posted these just can't spell. On to my interpretation of it... I believe Italo is Italo Calvino a postmodern/magical realist/fablist/modernist writer who lived in Communism for a parts of his life, and later came to the US, and many other parts of the world. I would assume that the imagery from these lyrics is echoed in one of his stories/works. It also seems to have an element of advocation for initiative in a communist place. And I think the "holy fire" and "city" may be american ideals...? Don't know about that one.
