Quite obvious really Someone the persona in the song is attatched to in some way makes this big show and bravado about having a horrific event(s) that have happened in the past, and they want to show they want to get over it. but really they dont, they're happy with who they are for whatever reason, and shes pissed off with it. simple. |

I honestly think that this song is about the life of a child. The first verse is about establishing the "imaginary friend" that really is imaginary and so is never there, the friend who is meant to help through anything. The rest of the song sounds like its about "monsters under the bed" - those childish fears which seem so real at the time and seem so capable of pain etc. These childish fears are mentioned in My Immortal as well which is what gave me the idea. |

Ok well im not sure what you guys think but its the one line that gets me... "You held me down and screamed you wanted me to die, Honey you know, you know I'd never hurt you that way" To me, that says that she (whoever the person is in the song, whether it be Amy Lee herself or some fictional persona thereof) honestly believes that he loves her, and the death of a loved one will obviously cause hurt, but she would still blame herslef, even though it is what he wants. I have no idea if Ive explained that properly or not but it makes sense in my head. :-) |
