i agree with Dacino. when i first read the lyrics without listening to the song it really does seem like she's dying, and no one knows but her, and maybe she doesnt want anyone to know. she just enjoys the simple things in life, such as the sound of water or a spoon of sugar, or just looking at the rain as it pours, and all this time nobody knows that something is terribly wrong with her. |

I can't believe no one has commented on this yet... it's such an amazing song. I believe this song is about a long distant relationship, and the guy is telling her how much he wants to be there with her, ("If the state lines that we were born into,Were ten miles high and we could not get through, I'd be by your side still this very day"). the girl he is referring to in the second verse is probably some girl who likes him but he doesnt want to be with her, and hes telling her not to be worried, because shes the only one he thinks about. (Babe I wish you were here so you could see, All I talk about is you when she's not with me). |
