This song is the story of an attachment. When you've been let down before and go around the world trying not to feel, maybe even bitter (first part, no piano). The way you start hanging around with some person (the first piano part and jónsi's voice change) and you start getting very close to them (when you can hear the violins on the back), with your attachment slowly but sightly growing stronger (violins gradually louder) until at some point it is just too much for it to be a simple friendship and you realize you've inevitably fallen in love (octave change). You enjoy for a precious bit of your love. But then something happens and that love has to stop undone (5:18) somehow you try to retake where you left, but you cant, you dont know where to start (the part where kjarri plays all messed up)... so you end up frustrated and confused. Damn it... :-( |
