| The Avett Brothers – Will You Return? Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| the lyrics to talk on indolence are in the beginning because during a live version in Anaheim, CA from the back of their tour bus, they did a version of this song and for some reason sung a slow version of the intro to talk on indolence in the video. If you search for will you return on youtube its one of the first videos that come up. | |
| Bob Dylan – She Belongs to Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| I believe you're wrong. Or at the very least, reaching here... First of all "she never stumbles" could mean anything. If "She's nobody's child" was about the immaculate conception than it would make sense if he wrote "he's nobody's child" referring to Jesus. Also, Catholic mass is on a number of days, not just Sunday. Saturday's are especially popular. "Salute her when her birthday comes" you wrote "Easter". Easter according to Catholic church, or any Christian church for that matter has nothing to do with birthdays, but in fact the death and resurrection of Christ. Your explanation of the last two holidays are just kind of reaching with not much significant meaning for either a drum or trumpet. yeah it could mean little drummer boy, but in my opinion, neither of those have anything to do with the song. | |
| Bob Dylan – Motorpsycho Nightmare Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Check out the episode of Seinfeld called "The Bottle Deposit". This song is the storyline for the last part of the second episode (2 part continued episode). Newman stops at a farm after being stranded by Kramer, and this song's storyline ensues. Glad to see a not so well known Dylan reference in a Seinfeld episode. Larry David is a genius. | |

| there is a very select group of songs that literally give me chills when i listen to them or read the lyrics. this is one of them. | |
| Modest Mouse – 3rd Planet Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Jumper, some of the stuff you said may make sense in some aspects, however, some things to consider... adam and eve weren't "cast to the earth" as some form of punishment or something from heaven, they were created here. Adam was created on earth, and eve was created from one of his ribs. (also on earth). Also, we're talking thousands and thousands of years later Jesus was born, after Adam and Eve were in the garden. I know you were saying he was born after, but its not even close, he was born way after. Also, to your first correction, adam and eve didn't "lose God" after they sinned, they were just forced from the garden of eden, forced to work for everything they had from that day on, to pay for their sin... The part about "the universe is shaped exactly like the earth" i can see how you'd think that to be derogatory possibly. But when I think of it, I take it in a more figurative sense kind of, where he means "the universe is round" or "whatever you do in this universe goes around and comes back around eventually" since it's shaped "exactly like the earth". just something to think about, not trying to say you're wrong in your opinion. | |
| The Weakerthans – Civil Twilight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i feel that it is actually about a frequent bus rider, and the bus driver always felt some sort of connection with this particular passenger.. she was always staring at him, but he never stared back at her.. like he wishes he would have now.. he was always staring at the crack on the outside of an apartment. possibly even her apartment. all this time he thought he never could say something to her because he didnt have enough time "My chance to say something seemed so brief but it wasn't, now i know i had plenty of time". Now he realizes he could have and should have said something to her... and now he's always hoping to see her again but its not likely he will. that's my take on it. | |
| Bob Dylan – Don't Think Twice, It's All Right Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| although with the line "don't think twice, it's alright" it may seem to be forgiving, but I definitely don't think there is much forgiveness in this song at all. as it was earlier posted, I believe this song is definitely kind of a sarcastic way of saying "yeah i mean you treated me like shit but why should i get upset over it?" -when in reality it is killing him. This song is basically dylan realizing you know what I don't need this, but at the same time it shows him trying to look like it's not phasing him when in reality he's pissed, and very hurt. | |
| Bob Dylan – Blood in My Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |

01-21-2009 Rated 0 I guess I feel that this song is about Dylan's feelings toward a woman that he felt for who at some point and in some way rejected him. this song isnt really about that, as much as it's about how that makes him feel. The "blood in my eyes" is really his way of saying my vision's cloudy toward you or I don't even want to see you or want to look at you. In the first verse he's feeling terrible so he just randomly asks some girl to make love to him - meaningless and to make him feel better... and he's got blood in his eyes towards the girl who broke his heart... trying to show how little he cares for her at all. (i.e - I don't care what in the world you do)....(or at least how much he wants her to think he doesn't care for her at all.) the second verse is basically his attempt at showing the girl who broke his heart that he's doesn't care for her and he's gonna go out with someone else. (that money will buy - ie. -that's meaningless to him) the third verse to me seems like the girl that broke his heart maybe gave him the line "maybe sometime we can work but just not now... can't you wait a little while?" and he's saying to her no I can't wait... i dont even care what in the world you do...(4th verse) distancing himself from her... "you've got my money now you're trying to break this date" - he feels used by her and just wants to try and make her feel guilty by saying that to her and to me the final verse just kind of is his ending to it all his basically pushing her away saying... "you know what? you don't want me? fine give me my stuff back and i'll leave you alone... and he reiterates it one more time - i don't care what in the world you do. |
