To me, this song has always seemed to not necessarily be about not being able to have a long-term relationship, but rather sustaining one of any length. The something that is in the way is the other's inability to help. Whatever the reason, they cannot return the time, emotion, or work necessary to make things work. This then wears him out to the point where he finally lets down his guard and explains that he needs the help for things to be successful. Living in the now instead of looking ahead to avoid the issue. |

Having listened to this song on repeat 15 times in a row, the only thing that comes to my mind is depression and suicide. When I hit bottom, this is what I go to. The feelings of being a baby, the hopeless and helplessness of depression take over and one is left looking for anything. Getting revenge on those who, seemingly, put one there is seen during the song. Putting oneself on warning could also come to mean that one is on suicide watch. Getting pushed away by society or whatever source and never coming back are beautiful ways to describe such a horrific event. |
