| Spoon – Written in Reverse Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| To me the song is about losing a girl to another man. It becomes easy for him to see that he is losing her by her change in behavior. He still loves her but she does not feel the same so nothing is there. He knows she did not plan to leave him but it still hurts. It seems like the girl in the song lacks concern for the feelings of the author. She does not have the will power to control the temptation of being with the other guy. I agree with jtn191, the hearse line is signifying the end of the relationship. Possibly the line of "I'm not standing here," means that he is not going to waste his time with the girl any longer. | |

yeah i agree with "just smoke and a little touch of mint" and "no hollow tipped attack" i think he says something along the lines of "a bright fool could see this coming on" instead of "we brought forth see this coming on." i know bright fool doesnt make sense but its what i hear. |

| Vetiver – Through the Front Door Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This is the best song on Tight Knit imo (maybe just cause i feel like i relate to it the most) "Won't be back again, I know I feel beside you fall through me These rooms, these halls, Got a lot of memories, And the way I see things, Don't do a damn for me. Through the front door, I see the light of our room." To me, I feel like he is saying that he knows his girl wont be back again and its very hard for him to deal with this. He's dealing with a lot of memories and feelings of his ex-lover. "I've been wrong before, But I've been right enough too. Still I won't be back no more" I feel like this is a different point in the song is at a different stage in his life/getting over this girl. He knows that he has made mistakes but she made the ultimate one of leaving him. he finally his starting to realize that his life can be better w/o her. "I'm gonna drive and undo These thoughts I'm free of the need to be free. Won't be back again, I know Won't be back again I know I know" What I love about this song is to me it seems like at the beginning he is talking about the girl not being back again but at the end it is about him. Its funny when you find songs like this that you think are written for you but I love it. |

| Minus the Bear – Lotus Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i dont see how religion has anything to do with the song. i believe its about the iraq war but possibly from a soldier's perspective. | |
| Mae – Boomerang Lyrics | 17 years ago |

nice job with the lyrics tennisplyr. i don't care much for this song. the lyrics are pretty good but the music sounds like maroon 5. mae has been nothing but a disappointment since after the everglow. |

| Minus the Bear – Burying Luck Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| to me, this song is about after the fact of breaking up with someone. i myself have gone through the fear that they will find someone better than me and i will be left alone. these are irrational feelings and have taken up too much time in my head. he speaks more of the man in this song and not so much his ex or past lover. i find that interesting cause at least with me, i always tend to hate the guys my ex girlfriends hooks up with rather than my ex. i eventually get over it. i can really relate to this song or at least the way i interpret it. | |
| Minus the Bear – Guns and Ammo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| this song is interesting cause it is told backwards. to me, it is about a relationship gone wrong. the fighting consists of pointless arguments but they both have their reasons for breaking it off. he misses the girl but doesnt know if he should call her or not. they both were hurt and he's not sure if it would be worth it again. | |

| watch the video on their myspace page. it explains why it may seem homo. | |
| Two Tongues – Dead Lizard Lyrics | 17 years ago |

WRONG: "Waste away without you are gone" CORRECT: "Waste away without you I'm gone" WRONG: "I will find a way for you to fall out of the grave" CORRECT: "I will find a way for you to crawl out of your grave" at least thats how i hear them. |

| i have to agree myhers. | |
| Two Tongues – Tremors Lyrics | 17 years ago |

haha i don't think it has a homo-theme. "Alone with you guitar Like I was staring into the mirror Seeing the same sad scar I want to reach into you I want to hold you here" I believe this is about max and chris' friendship. max was a huge fan of saves the day growing up. later in life, they became friends. i think chris is saying that max and him are similar in what they are trying to achieve with their music. |

| Two Tongues – Crawl Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i think its about two former lovers coming or "crawl"ing back to each other because they find comfort in each other. he still loves her but she is not sure how she feels. he battles with his emotions of being fine or miserable without her. he is sick of playing this game but at least he can still have her, even if it isn't the way he wants it. | |
| Two Tongues – Try Not To Save Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i think the title of the song says it all. its about not relying on other people for happiness or help. | |
| Two Tongues – Alice Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i see this song as a song about a girl cheating on guy. he possibly wants to wait to have sex but she cannot. he feels like he cannot trust her so he has to keep her close because he loves her. she dismisses what he says and finds someone else to have sex with. i may be totally wrong but thats how i see it. | |
| Say Anything – Ahhh... Men Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
lol at eat a sub. i believe the first time through he says: "where the room with the bodies will display what they've done." the second time he changes the lyrics: "where those who bury bodies in the barrel of fun will sit in ideas and regret what they've done." i think he's also saying: "who will reluctantly let them in?" powerful song and performance. I agree with Katie11. As we know from, "Alive With the Glory of Love," his grandparents, were in the prison camp, Treblinka. Max displays his emotion in the live performance because of this. It truly hits home for him. |

| Mae – The House That Fire Built Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I agree donnyz. All the fanboys make me sick. DB and Everglow were great but ever since then they have released garbage. | |
| Vampire Weekend – Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"This feels so unnatural, Peter Gabriel too" This could be talking about Peter Gabriel and his relationship with the band Genesis. In the mid 70's, Gabriel left the band and was later replaced by Phil Collins. Critics said that Collins sounded more like Gabriel than Gabriel did. To me the lyrics mean that Peter Gabriel wasn't as natural of a singer as Phil Collins. |
