God, drugs, alter-ego, a deceiving relationship... I think they might be all good interpretations. I'm adding a vague notion of 'society' on top of it. Anyway, they're all evolving around the same central idea, aren't they? Build yourself up some illusion about your self, or the ultimate entity in which you put all your trust, then wake up and realize you've just made it up to comfort yourself into making, or not making, decisions regarding your life and beliefs. And as you smell the burnt coffee you realize the real motive was fear. You were wronged by your own beliefs. And then you kinda wish you were the one who wrote the song. This song is cool. It's meanings can stick to a pretty large pile of situations and issues in our lives :D |

I'm sure, too, he's been telling her big tales, he's just using her up, and all in all, he's really not worth it, etc. But still... Just when she thought she's gotten over him, thoughts of him pop up in her mind and she can't help but wishing she could have him back to her. Arg. And the music is just sooo perfectly fitting...! |

I'd say the boy was impressed at first. Then he got bored, went looking around, found "that" girl... Obviously, sex had been good -- and wild. She understands she has to let go, but still feels bitter about it. She's disappointed by him, thinking he should have went looking for more, for things she could offer more than the other girl. She acknowledges their relationship is dying. She's tried to save it in many ways, some of which desperate. But in the end she admits they're different. She's fueling on something he'll never have. |
