this is not similar to stop swimming at all. this song is about a man who loves a girl and the girl used to love him back, but now doesn't and is skrewing up her life and making a mess of it and the man is sad that she has done this to herself when she once was so perfect. it's very possible that they had children, due to the first line. i love this song so much it amazes me. when it hits the chorus i just about die. |

absolve pretty much means to release or let go. so she lost her dream and her path was destroyed or life was skrewed up. |

it's obviously the perspective of a person who very likely has some mental illness, but is definitely messed up somehow. it's actually very beautiful song, in a very strange way. it shows how this messed up character see's things and it's very very beautiful. there are also other way's to look at it, but the gist of it stays the same. and Pink Floyd is definitely NOT a boring band. both PF and PT are amazing bands. |

i think that if the book theory is correct, it could possibly change perspective. "When a mother and father gave me their problems, i accepted them all." could be the child. and "And my ashes find a way beyond the fog, And return to save the child that I forgot" the father i really don't know though, i havn't read that book. |

i actually don't like this song, the musical aspect at least. the lyrics are amazing though, as are all of steve willson's. somehow i think this song does relate to love because of the 5th verse, which basically reveals the whole meaning behind the name of the album, 'stupid dream'. i doubt willson would add that verse in there w/o the rest also somehow relating to that. im not sure, the time i bought this album also adds alot of to how i see love relating to most of these songs, although most are anyway. |

"Have we ever been here before? Running headlong at the floor. Leave we dreaming on a railway track. Wrap me up and send me back." wow that's my favorite part of the song, it hits me hard. also, can somebody interpret the line, "you keep me listening to the Bends" for me? i don't understand that |

alot of this song reminds me of Holden Caufield from the book, "Catcher in the Rye" at least parts such as "They look like tourists, it makes me want to laugh". Actually surprisingly, this song also reminds me of myself in ways, relating to love. "Strange as I seem, I'm getting stranger by the minute. Look in my dreams, they're getting stranger by the minute." god that's amazing |
