Well love'em or hate'em, GG was his own man. GG basically didn't fit into society, as he has stated. What he does in life or on stage was 'REAL' its not an act or even fom the drugs. Its who he was. He even said, if he was not a musician he would have been a serial killer. Well, you should be glad he was a musician, definitly not alot of talent like say Iggy Pop. But he did have something to say, and well, many of us wanted to hear what it was all about. Like the song stroke from Billy Squier, Bit it you scum, takes it too the man. Not enuff songs like this out there. Seems like us blue collars get screwed again and again. GG lives on.... God Bless. |

| Badfinger – Without You Lyrics

I remember seeing somewhere that 'Without You' was the most covered song of all-time.
I read somewhere that Tom had a line and Pete had some lines for the song, and they combined it, and well, one of the best songs ever written. Too bad Pete & Tom took their lives, BadFinger should have been bigger, but they did leave a wealth of music. No Dice, Straight Up, Badfinger, Wish You Were Here, Day After Day, Airwaves, Head First... My favorite is Wish You Were here, with No Dice in 2nd and Straight Up 3rd. |

The drummer is amazin' perfect simple beats with the right stops and starts.
Billy Sqiuer is a great commentator, he hits the nail on the head.
I remember reading about Steve Earle, and one time him and Billy got in a fight, don't know what happend, but Steve Earle could be intimidating in his younger days. |

The song is definitly about the music industry. It tells you how they are your best friends until you sign the bottom line, then they become the devil incognito. The things they give you, the girls, and evreything except the money which they mostly keep 60%, while you get 40% and hopefully you are in it for the music, and not the money. Its why th eindustry has been shook, they screwed the artists and the music buyers... I like anti-industry songs like this; There's not enuff of them. |
