This is definitely my favorite song by them. It's addicting & never gets old. My interpretation of this song is that this girl that he loved, she died, but he just can't accept the fact that she did, and is denying the fact that she's dead. He still remembers the day, Sunday, when she "disappeared" "Forgive me, I'm trying to find my calling I'm calling at night I don't mean to be a bother But have you seen this girl? She's been running through my dreams And it's driving me crazy, it seems I'm gonna ask her to marry me" He's looking for her, but he can't find her because she's, well, dead. But he won't tell himself that she is. "Even though she doesn't believe in love He's determined to call her bluff Who could deny these butterflies? They're filling his gut" One of my favorite lines in this song. My favorite part is Juliet's part: "I'm not coming back (Forgive me) I've done something so terrible I'm terrified to speak (I'm not calling, I'm not calling) But you'd expect that from me I'm mixed up, I'll be blunt (You're driving me crazy) Now the rain is just washing you out of my hair And out of my mind Keeping an eye on the world From so many thousands of feet off the ground I'm over you now I'm at home in the clouds, towering over your head" I think this part is about his ex-girlfriend's message to him in heaven, hence "in the clouds/towering over your head." "I'm over you now" is a wordplay/pun I think, because she's over him like she doesn't love him anymore, but she's also over him because shes up in the clouds in heaven. Oh gosh I just love this song so much. |

I love this song a lot! I'm addicted to it. I think that this song is about how this girl changed a guy's life, but they broke up, and he still can't let her go. "So I've been sleeping with this silence in my mind And all I see scares me And no one knows it, but she, she saved me" She changed his life and he still can't get that out of his head. "But you promised me this is love So stay and watch the hospital That's just across the street From your apartment balcony I'll never ever leave there I'll never leave" He thought they were supposedly "in love", but I guess the girl didn't exactly feel the same way. He'll never stop loving her and won't ever forget her. "Now look, we've made a fool out of love When all we want is to be enough When all we want is to feel enough" That's my favorite part of the song. |
