I think it's about depression. I also think the first to verses are two seperate examples. In the first, the mother is suffering, and neither the husband or the kids can understand what's happening. This happened happened when I was a kid. I think if the husband was having an affair, he'd know what he'd done. And I think the second verse, the note left is a suicede note (seperate incident), that was heard on the grapevine (black car - hearse) guy leaving a note for a local girl, when he had it all on a plate (everything to live for) |
