Escape the Fate – We Won't Back Down Lyrics 16 years ago
Ronnie was NOT Escape the Fate. He was ONE member of the band. You obviously are not a true ETF fan, you are a Ronnie fan. The lead singers always get more visibility, but sometimes they are very little part of the creative process.

Don't get me wrong, I like Ronnie and think that he is very talented. But I am also a fan of the band itself. I'm glad they were able to move on past the unfotunate events of the past. I've now seen them twice and got to meet most of the guys, and would not have had that oppourtunity because of Ronnie.

Right, because you know what went down between them.

You can pick a side if you want to, but that doesn't mean that's what really happened.

Yes, this song is obviously about Ronnie. I like both Ronnie and Craig and think they both brought something unique to Escape the fate.

However,

Ronnie Fucked up. Big time, and the band did what they had to do by replacing him. There was stuff said on both sides and it turned into a big deal. There is no love lost between Ronnie and the band, so obviously there were some bad feelings and they did what artists do, put it into their work. To say 'fuck this song' if its about Ronnie, then you're not really listening to the music.

Escape the Fate – You Are So Beautiful Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is about women, not about one in peticular, I think, but about different women in their lives and the trouble that has come from them.

'now you're saying that you're late'

She's telling him she thinks she's pregnant. And she's just another one of his mistakes, and it fits in well with the next verse too.

"So now I'm feeling like a slave
I'm locked away inside this grave
And I'm hoping for a way I can be saved
(I can be saved)"

Only to find out later that she lied about it. He found the proof.

Sevendust – Xmas Day Lyrics 16 years ago
I agree with those that say it is about a mother/child relationship. I believe that the type of relationship that is describes has a lack of intimacy that would be in a man/woman relationship.

It just shows that even though parents can sometimes be poisonous to their children, they almost can't help but love them.

To me it sounds like its from the perspective of a son, who is older, looking at his mother who has a drinking problem. It also gives me sort of a helpless impression. As if he is looking back at all that she has gone through when he was too young to do anything to help her, and now he feels like it is too late, but he would do anything to bring her out of that dark place that she is in.

I didn't like Craig as much, then I saw him live. If you are stuck on this whole Ronnie thing, then go listen to his other band. If they even ever get to tour, which is doubtfull. Craig has amazing energy and a good voice. Its not as distinctive as Ronnie's but just as good. I also met Craig after one of their shows and he is the nicest person ever.

I saw them in concert 2 nights ago. They said. "This song is about fucking"

Simple as that.

Escape the Fate – The Flood Lyrics 17 years ago
I must say the first time that I heard this song, I was seriously underwelmed. After falling in love with the first album (and with Ronnie for that matter), I was rather disapointed with how unremarkable the vocals were.

I knew that as a ETF fan, I would have to get over that. And I have, though I can't help but feel that instead of moving forward with This War is Ours, they are trying to recreate with Craig what they did with Ronnie.

Escape the Fate – Cellar Door Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree with most of what's been said here. I believe its about suicide. Though I just want to add my opinion to a bit of it.

We walked through the doorway
Heard you calling from the hall
To find you in the bedroom
Not breathing at all

I think that the first part is about being too late to help someone. You hear them calling, but by the time that you reach them it is too late. Maybe just to late and he arrives just in time to watch her die.

And down below
Your veins run dry your vacant eyes
I lost control
Your face is pale, your body's cold
And down below your veins run dry your vacant eyes
I lost control
Your face is pale, your body's cold (Your face is pale, your body's cold)

I also want to differ with most and say that the way she commited suicide was by slitting her wrists as opposed to a drug overdose. "your veins run dry" from bloodloss, and the narrator is perhaps holding her in the cellar as this is happening, and him 'losing conrol' once he realizes that she really is gone.

God I love this song.
