Marilyn Manson – Disassociative Lyrics 16 years ago
I believe that this song is about a bad trip or intense trip of a dissociative drug
Such as Ketamine, PCP, and DXM

Dissociative drugs are no joke
They will make you feel disconnected from your own body
I'm not advising anyone to do any drugs
But if you do attempt to experiment please be careful with your mind and body,
If you treat your mind and body right you will survive,
But please research any chemical you attempt to input into your body,
I advise you to get second opinions and drugs can kill or cause serious injury and harm,
Street drugs can be unclean and cut and they can be manufactured horribly,
Chemicals are no joke also certain drugs do change your brain chemistry
You may no longer feel the same again
So be advised to question and research before you consume any chemicals.

Marilyn Manson – Disassociative Lyrics 16 years ago
This is my interpretation of "Disassociative"... right or wrong here goes...

I believe this song is about being on a disassociative and I believe it's meaning goes beyond that aswell.
But mainly I believe this song was influenced by a disassociative drug such as Ketamine/DXM

[Lyrical interpretation]:
I can tell you what they say in space;
that our Earth is too grey.
But when the spirit is so digital,
the body acts this way.

- [ I believe he is saying when we input things into our bodies such as chemicals, our bodies acts a certain way, such as cannabis (THC) the chemical makes you feel high or stoned depending on the amount of thc consumed and method of consumption but regardless once thc gets in your bloodstream you get high or stoned, but when you take a drug such as Ketamine or DXM you basically get disassociative effects from these drugs thus making you either feel mechanical or robotic (dxm) and also disconnected from your body thus making you feel like your floating in some sort of space]
That world was killing me, world was killing me.
Disassociative.

The nervous system's down, the nervous system's down,
and I know...
The nervous system's down, the nervous system's down,
and I know...

- [what he is saying his nervous system is down but inreality it's not he is just feeling disconnected from his body, because once you become disconnected from your body you can't feel your own heart beat and you really believe your "nervous system" is shutting down thus creating the illusion your heart isnt beating and yet your alive but your dying, basically it's disassociative effects)

I can never get out of here.
Don't wanna just float in fear.
Dead astronaut in space.
I can never get out of here.
Don't wanna just float in fear.
Dead astronaut in space.

- [He just wants to escape the feelings he is feeling, and he doesn't want to be high with fear, so he is basically "floating" (disconnected feelings) but he has the fear that he is possibly dying, again these are disassociative effects from Ketamine and DXM]

Sometimes we walk like we were shot
through our heads, my love. - [He is basically explaining he walks around "high" sometimes with someone]
We write a song in space like we
are already dead and gone. - [ He is basically saying when he is in "space" [stoned on weed or high on disassociatives] that he begins composing a song like he is already dying, basically it's probably what drives him to write these powerful raw emotional songs]

That world was killing me, world was killing me.
Disassociative.
That world was killing me, world was killing me.
Disassociative. - [I believe he is saying the world (sober or not) isn't good to him, and hinting it's just a disassociative trip or effects that creates this illusion that the world is killing him when it isn't, I could be wrong here]

I can never get out of here.
Don't wanna just float in fear.
Dead astronaut in space.
I can never get out of here.
Don't wanna just float in fear.
Dead astronaut in space.

The nervous system's down. The nervous system's down.
The nervous system's down. The nervous system's down.

I can never get out of here.
Don't wanna just float in fear.
Dead astronaut in space.
I can never get out of here.
Don't wanna just float in fear.
Dead astronaut in space.
