| R.E.M. – Walk Unafraid Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Dulos247 connects these song meanings to a walk of faith, to which I also connect. In addition to so many great assessments, let me add The Individual Versus The Group. Michael Stipe heralds strength in gay pride isolated from so many judging Americans. Dulos embraces the "in this world, not of this world" writings from the apostle John. The song's triumph of the struggling "I" can also be so powerful against governments, corporations, and other groups of power that "expect [us] to step the narrow path they laid," enforce strict boundaries, and limit contradiction. In today's dearth of protest songs, I hope this song resonates with individuals and inspires them to break boundaries, challenge what they're told, pick themselves up after falling, and be unafraid of The Group or collective power telling them to behave otherwise. |

| Peter Gabriel – Here Comes The Flood Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Out of Sight, Out of Mind This would be my choice song for topics of Noetics and Transhumanism, a weary post-apocalyptic tune to slow the massive onslaught of merging connected computing with humanity, of skewering private consciousness for immediate interconnection. The HCTF scenario is within a generation, and decisions today influence the framework and structures of tomorrow's completely connected crash. |

| Tori Amos – Past The Mission Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Here's a theory from left field: my 1st impression was an allegory of her lesbian encounter and experience. Clues to the effect are (a) going past or beyond the mission, or missionary style (b) once knew a hot girl (c) smelling roses (d) the vajayjay giving a smile. Doesn't explain the body too well. | |
