Yeah. The mutiny is referring to the denial of "earthly desires" and placing God as the most important thing in your life. Like when Paul cast aside his earthly accomplishments as "rubbish" in Philippians 3:8-9. So, if God is the "new breed" we want him to scream "I am immortal in you" representing God being eternal. He is the only being that is Forever.... My take at least :P. God bless! |

I hear you guys. Great insight. When you sing along to the song and you are quoting Satan (even if fictionally) calling God "weak forgiver" and such just doesn't sit well in our souls :P. So, when I sing the song, I just mumble the Satan quotes and sing the God quotes because I know that God conquers evil. :) I do, however, think that the image the band is setting is good and powerful. I like how the concept grabs us Christians by the shirt, so to speak and, makes us want to defend our Lord and Savior and "cut off the horns" of the devil.
Such a blessed band. God is speaking through them... Keep it up and God bless! |

Song is about us fans. Josh is admitting that we're not in his mind when he writes the music. Towards the end it sounds like they are expressing their frustration with the "bashers" that basically want them to make another album like "No sir, Nihilism is Not Practical"... So... I hate music because of you!!! So original... Best band in the world, with the best messages. |

Think this song is totally about how people seclude themselves and are their own worst enemies. They trap themselves inside "walls". This song is their way of showing people how to tear down those walls. You can be shown out of the hole you are in, but it's you that has to climb out/stay out. "watch all your fears fall like ashes all around just don't forget that you're the one who brought it down you did this on your own all i did was show you how". Amazing song and for sure the best hardcore band in recent years. Lyrically amazing, right up there with Oh, Sleeper.

Sounds like the song is talking about how he's afraid of hurt and loss and how he will repeatedly throw himself into these situations. The only way he can lose/get hurt is if he's with the thing that he can potentially lose/get hurt by. "All I need is a love to make it hurt". This song is a testament to that and is him expressing himself. "Cause this song is all I have to make me feel". Even though he gets hurt he'll still be there. "and if you're unhappy still I'll be hanging on your line should you return"... Just my take. Second fav Copeland song next to "Love is a Fast Song"... Such an amazing band filled with heart!! |
