| Owls – Holy Fucki~g Ghost Lyrics

Well to people who think this song is about fucking the holy ghost, it can be looked at that way, but another. Just Holy fucking Ghost, the saying. Not the verb. You can think that what Tim means when he says, "I Comed" as something as ejaculation or as he died, coming to heaven, and when Jesus says, "I'm coming" means that Jesus is coming back to earth. This song is definitely about Tim's struggle with faith. It's obvious if you stop looking at it as a sexual thing, and look at it as someone who is trying to the see the light in everything. Good song. This is why I love Tim Kinsella. |

I love and adore this song and I sympathize with it soo much. Not so much the friend, but the girlfriend part. The girlfriend part is what I'm dealing with. You know, sometimes I don't think Kevin Barnes realizes the masterpiece he created with this CD. It's like he created this tiny world in which these people in the songs inhabit and we are all invited to (he did). I want to meet him and say thanks for such an amazing CD. It helps and makes me cry. Beautiful, beautiful stuff. |

Goddamn it! This is exactly how I felt about her, my ex girlfriend. Everyone is still boring because they're not her. She was the last interesting person in this part of town. It's going to be a cold winter.
This girl is so important, that nothing else matters. When and when he is not with her, he simply is in a dream-like state about her. She is so wonderful, he can't help himself........God i want to cry when I heart this song. |

Oh, I so agree with Samantha's interpretation. I am going through what this song talking about, minus the gorgeous young man parts. For me, it's a girl. Shit, love sucks. Holding onto the threads of a relationship that tearing apart is painful. |

It is love. But it's the simplest form of love. "I'm gonna find out just how close we really are and if having you around is better than being alone." So true. My girlfriend is going through that with me. I hope it's better being with me. IF not, oh well, as long as she is happy. |

I like how he personified the Springtime, April really. He makes it almost as if it's this person he's happy is back. In a sense, maybe this person only does come around once a year and he cherishes the oppurtunity to be with it. |

Wow, never noticed how much this song relates to me. At first, I liked this song because it was dedicated to someone I liked but was to afraid to say anything to. But now, that we're going out, this song is totally about a relationship like the one I have. |

This might be about being with someone that you can have a good time with, but eventually you'll want to settle down. I think everyone has had a boyfriend/girlfriend like that. Your on edge, kinda paranoid, feeling a little uneasy. |

Man, where to begin with this song. I agree with eski, this song is about just that. Funny how I dedicated this song to a girl I was rather involved with for a while. Didn't actually know that it would be so closely related to how she is. Man, I have a way with writing and assigning things and not realizing that they are dead on. |

You know, in retrospect, that might not be Tim's Wife, Amy. She left him afterall for a pop artist named Derek Erdman. This may be Jen Woods. She does collaborate with him on occasion. |

Poor guy. His wife left him for Derek Erdman. I was wondering why every song on Boo Human was about a relationship gone bad. That's usually not his forte. Not since Cap'n Jazz. So sad, though. It actually made me sad. |

Beautiful, beautiful song. Totally deals with what I'm going through right now. I agree with Brucexbateman; the narrator has gone through something. I think it's actually a negative thing that happened. The way he said that it still hurt like hell, even though it was meant well. But getting back to what I was saying. I am going through this. Shit has happened, I've changed (and not in some prfound, pretentious way) and now I'm pretty much dealing with the aftermath. There are alot of days (especially in the wintertime) that I just want to stay in. Funny how both Kinsella's have songs about staying in. Tim has, A Party Able Model Of; and Mike has this song. Just thought I'd point that out. Plus, I'm a big nostalgic guy, and this reminds me of the summertime with my new girlfriend (at the time). Good shizz. |

This song is beautiful, it actually drove me (excuse the pun) to write a short story about it.
But now to my interpretation of this song: it's about this guy taking his girlfriends sister on a road trip of sorts. Along the way, they see plenty of things and he realizes that he actually has feelings for her as opposed to his girlfriend. Thus the line "trading in my blanket for a pillow". I think that line means, he is no longer just laying down, being kept warm by this blanket (the sister), but is now going to sleep (the pillow) for a while. This is such a pretty song that paints a picture in my head. Amazing amazingness. Kinsella always inspires me. |

"Half asleep, people look funny." Shit, I went around for a week at school saying that to people. Everyone looked at me weird, as they rightfully should, but it's one of my fav. lines by him. Tim always has a line in each song that just sticks out from the rest. |

There's a nine minute video of him playing this song, and he sings the last line for over 7 minutes. It's kinda funny. To me, this song is about a person, a guy, who is infatuated with this one person. He sees her as being "picture" perfect, in reference to the first line of the song. He sees her as this utterly amazing person, who he doesn't know all that closely, and he'd like to but he's either shy or afraid. He goes through the motions of day to day life, feeling okay, or as the song says, "alright", but eventually, that feeling starts to get old and he is getting depressed. He knows he doesn't have a shot in hell to be with her, so he tries to forget about her, but ultimately, he can't. This song really means alot to me because I felt this way about this girl (my girlfriend now), and I was so infatuated with her and eveything about her, but I couldn't say a word to her. I was too afraid. But there is one line that resonates with me, the fact that he says, as someone else already pointed out, "you were taking a break from life," brings such a relaxed, laid back vibe to this girl that he loves. It's such a beauiful song and what once brought a frown to my face, now brings a huge fucking smile. |
