I really like your interpretation and I agree with almost all of it. I just want to add to your comment about the flood.
Maybe it's not a flood of tears, but if you read the line where she compares her significant other to loving her like water and then when you get to the chorus where she wants that special someone to love her like a flood, I believe it suggests she wants that other person to pour out his/her love like a flood so that it can encompass all of her and not just something that passes through her hands. Because she can't hold on to water so if it's a flood then she does not have to hold on to it, but that kind of love does not last.
She knows all of this, but still wants it to flood and that's the natural disaster. She knows it will end and she'll be deeply hurt, hence the line where her tears fill the ocean, both of which are salty :\ that last line makes it appear that there are oceans because of her tears, further emphasizing how much she loves the other person. |

the beat of this song is a little different from most of their songs, but i like it :)
the lyrics are quite simple and i feel like i can relate to the words. i believe it is about reassuring a lover in a time of need and doubt that one should have faith in love to obtain it. if there are any worries, they should be able to lean on each other because their love is strong enough to see it through. and to make her lover she how much she cares, she says she'll wait for him to come. |

wow, i agree with hannahjordan. the song is very catchy and melodic. and like missme stated, it's about being ready to love again and knowing that everyone wants to love and be loved.

I really adore this song. She makes a very strong point, although I would have preferred the first line to be "If I could touch myself the way you touched me" instead of "If I touched myself the way you touched me". The first line just kinda makes me think dirty :P Unless that's what she intended :O |

Although I don't understand the meaning of this song, I like the tune :) I've noticed that her new album has a more catchy rhythm about it and I don't mind that change at all. At the least, I can bob my head to it and that'll make me feel good :D |
