I feel as if this song is about being cheated on by a girl. having every question answer won't help when the truth is painful. This line reminds me of the scene in "Closer" when the man discovers he has been cheated on and asks his wife what exactly happened between her and the man she cheated with. It may even be about getting back w/ someone after they have been with other people, either way it's painful and not my business to be digging up these things I shouldn't know. The book is simply a reference to Keith being well-read and intelligent yet being ill-suited to solve this dilemma. The part about you know you own my body, he still loves her. |

Yeah I agree with jonahj, I was scrolling down and feeling that many of the comments were extremely vapid and slightly off point. The song is about someone who has been molested by a priest, probably catholic (i'm a catholic, so i dont mean it pejoratively, but this shit happens too often in the church) The lyrics..."i should hate you, but I hate myself instead". Like you said he crawls back, blames himself and feels guilty. The pain in his chest, time passes by and regret swells. |
