| Kings of Leon – Comeback Story Lyrics | 12 years ago |

This is one of my favorite tracks off of the album, it is a pretty emotional song in my opinion and it is a shame there are no comments on it. To me, this song is about leaving some things behind in an effort to move forward, whether it is sacrificing something else important to you, or burying a hurtful past. Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in someday somewhere Island and you can find yourself stuck there and never moving forward with your life. I cannot help but feel this song is a recognition of that stagnant feeling you get when you realize there is no progression and captures that feeling of determination you feel when you realize you have to do something about it. |

| Rise Against – Help Is On The Way Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I find it very interesting to listen to the tone of voice used in the song. You start with a statement that eventually works it's way into a desperate cry. Immediately followed by the chorus saying "Help is on the way". I find this interesting because after the chorus if repeats, starts with a calm statement then back to a desperate cry for help. Almost as if when you ask for help and it is offered, you can never really fully rely on anyone else but yourself. I think it has more to do with direct action then anything else. |

I think it is about recognizing those things that weigh on your mind. Not so much dwelling on them, but learning from those situations. Overall, it is the adversity that defines our character and we should strive to be the best we can be by facing that adversity. |

We are what we dream and aspire to be. But as we grow it all gets lost in the shuffle, and we become something else entirely. It is hard to love and be loved when you are not yourself. |

I think this is one of the best songs by AVA. This album has a different tone to it from the others but is still definitely AVA. I think is it about moving on more or less. How we can often find ourselves lost and when we start living we will find that everything seems to fall in place on its own, often times for the better. I don't know, that is my interpretation because that is how it kind of goes with me and even the people I know. |

| That is why I love them. Their music can reach inside and pull out feelings you might have lost, or never knew you had. | |

Reading it over it seems like that is the story which is presented. Perhaps I am more critical though. Being a musician though, I find that song meanings are generally fairly broad fora reason. Glad you posted :) |

I think this song is a really good song. Right now, with the name of the album, the date of it's release, and its overall sound; I get the feeling it is about picking yourself up when you are down. Dust yourself off, and live. There are so many ways you can feel electric, utilize them. When you can start getting excited about life without love you will inevitably find love when you are not even looking. |

AVA is very good at using powerful lyrical descriptions with soundscaping to bring you into the music. What I draw from this song is essentially the feeling of love. When you know you are in love everything kind of hits you from so many angles. You cannot have love without tribulation nor without a sense of transcendence. The two are pretty polar and it can cause you to question if it is real or not. When things are going bad you tend to question their feelings for you, and when they are going good you start to question if you are just imagining that something can be so right. That is what I get from the song. AVA tends to write from a viewpoint that can encompass so many different situations which is what makes them so amazing, they write things that pretty much anyone can relate to and compare to their life in some shape or form. I am stoked for the new album, and I will definitely be buying the physical album when it is released. I think it is cool they are doing the 10-Track free. I wonder if this album is a continuation of the other two. We have the rebirth, then the progression after rebirth and now the third ablum. |

| Mischief Brew – Nomads Revolt Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It is all about keeping the resistance alive, fighting against the oppression we face in a lifetime does not mean we are winning the battle, and the best thing we can do for a cause is to ensure that those that follow us have stepping stones to ensure that they fight for the cause. If we don't ensure a future of fighters to face whatever problems lie ahead, then we are submitting to such problems and basically admitting defeat. I draw this from many lines in the song, but the most powerful line backing up my interpretation is the line: 'But there's more in one fist swing in mothers swearin, "my children shall never be sold!".' |

| Mischief Brew – Tell Me A Story Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think it is about how a nation gets to a place such as where we are in the world today, we as in the united states. Not meaning to sound cocky or what have you, but the united states is a fairly wealthy and secure nation but we would not be where we are today had we not cut corners, concealed truths, and deceived citizens. We are where we are as a nation because of those things, and all the while the price we are ultimately paying may seem little to those up top, but it is the character of our country that is slowly being lost in the scuffle of lies and deceit. All said and done, we are defined by those in power of our country and unless that power is brought down and a true union within out citizens is established we are ultimately just a country without a soul. |

| Rise Against – Entertainment Lyrics | 17 years ago |

"i really miss times with powerfull, full of angry, full of metaphors and meaning lyrics. not mentioning melodies... still good song but its not the same i mean - where is that thing that made you think for a while and to interpretate lyrics on your own and when every single person could have his own interpretation that wasn't same as any other - now its just plain what the song is about." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Funny you seem to think this song is so clear, then you post something like that. From what I get out of this, this song is about how as a band they are expected to act and sound a certain way, and a lot of fans expected this album to be just as hard and fast as their other albums. I think this is their way of saying they won't conform to your expectations, and it shows that they can be who they want to be regardless of their fans expectations. This album is showing us they are still Rise Against, but they won't be told how they should play their music by anyone other then themselves. great song :) |

I was one of those Rise Against fans that heard this album and wondered "What the fuck did they do releasing this album". But after listening to it a bit more, I was reminded why Rise Against is so amazing, and why I started listening to them. To say Rise Against is "Punk" is silly. They are merely a band who is conscious and aware of what is going on in the world, and integrating their stance into music. No matter if they play slow, fast, hard or poppy, that they are very intelligent, talented, and they use music as a tool to bring about awareness. And no matter what genre they are or were in, their music holds what most music lacks, and that is lyrics with a meaning and a reason. I am starting to love this album every time I listen to it. Not my favorite album, but a great album none the less. |

| Against Me! – New Wave Lyrics | 17 years ago |

bfcobblerman08, I think you should listen to their older stuff. smAM!1992 is right, they were all about never selling out. Now look at them. There are other ways of making ends meet than disregarding the values you live by and throwing them out the door. AnchoviSmegma, you may be right, but as an old school against me fan, I think Tom's words are shot to hell now, and in the end he may defend his actions but its a silly thing to try and justify, when its more so a matter of principal. |
