| The Cure – Cut Here Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| easily one of Robert's best songs, simply put it's about always rushing and missing your life, missing the chance to catch up with old friends and putting things off until you run out of time. | |
| The Hold Steady – For Boston Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| is this supposedly the middle part of One For The Cutters? (between the ride and the trial) quoting OFTC "he wasn't all that different except for the blood on his jacket?" and OFTC mentions townies a lot. | |
| Madonna – This Used To Be My Playground Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
this song to me is all about losing childhood innocence and gaining responsibility. but in the literal sense i relate to it as well; i'm a junior in highschool and recently i drove by my elementary school; i moved across town in sixth grade and lost touch with everyone i knew from there. turns out; the school closed last year. nobody told me, i went and walked around the playground. the whole time i was crying. because that playground was who i was, i spent so much time out there with my friends. and i realized that i hadn't spoken to them in years and years. "This used to be our childhood dream This used to be the place we ran to The best things in life are always free"- i love these lines. in essence this was what i felt walking around that day. i cried when i got in the car and this was on the radio. i guess that's why i connect the two so much. |

| Nickelback – Far Away Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i don't think the song is about distance in miles, kilometers or whatever. i think it's distancing of hearts.... for example. my ex-boyfriend was my best friend. but once we started dating we started shielding our emotions and distancing our hearts from one another. we loved each other dearly. but this hiding emotions from one another did us in. i'd do anything to get him back..but i can't have him. i waited too long to open myself to him again. i think this song is like that. maybe he misused her friendship to manipulate it into some sort of love. then he pulled away and realized he really loved her. but she couldn't do it again. and he wants to so bad he'd do anything.... |

| Fall Out Boy – Lullabye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| first what a catch, donnie isn't acoustic. at least not in concert. second, even if it was....the entire "heart is the b-side.." album is pretty much acoustic. and it beat folie a deux to stores. just saying. | |
| Weird Al Yankovic – Jerry Springer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| worse than it sounds. | |
| Chase Coy – All Those Nights Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
my first thoughts on this song were about senior year of highschool; about wanting things to be normal when you come home; and hoping that you'll still be close with everybody. and not wanting to let highschool go. chase is going to be famous one day...more famous than he is with just the indie crowd that is. -we love you chase- ♥ -mm♥ and kt♥ |

| Tyler Hilton – You'll Ask For Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i wish they woulda brought him back in season 5; like walk into peyton's studio while haley was there or something...that woulda made the season bettter*(: | |
| Tyler Hilton – You'll Ask For Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| while you're OTH referencing.. i think this fits nathan &+ haley's relationship more than chris keller (tyler) &+ haley's relationship. | |
| Evanescence – Hello Lyrics | 16 years ago |

this could just as well be a sister. i believe it was amy who wrote this song.. so it could be written about her sister who died during childhood..it would make more sense. don't have time to check facts. -mm♥ |

| Evanescence – Hello Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
my take on the song:: (i agree with previous posts that this is a mother dealing with the death of a child) Playground schoolbell rings, again Rainclouds come to play, again -the playground schoolbell symbolizes childhood. and the rainclouds are the mother's sadness. Has no one told you she's not breathing ? - the mother is in denial and the second personality (the inner one; hidden by the outer personality the mother lives with) Hello, I'm your mind, giving you someone to talk to...Hello... - this is the original personality trying to make the outer one (the shield to the world) see that denial is more painful than dealing with the death. If I smile and don't believe Soon I know I'll wake from this dream -this is the outer personality responding. the second line being yet another denial. Don't try to fix me I'm not broken - this is the outer personality saying that there is nothing wrong with the denial. that it's sick of being asked if they're okay and sick of the inner personality trying to make it see the truth. Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide... - this is the outer saying that the inner personality is just too afraid to face the world. Don't cry... - this is the inner personality calming the outer personality Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping - ^ because of this realization that the child is in reality dead. Hello, I'm still here, all that's left Of yesterday.. - this is the two blending back to the one person. who can safely grieve her child; without denial. OKAY; NOW THAT I WROTE THAT OUT...IT SEEMS CRAZIER THAN IT DID WHEN I THOUGHT OF IT...oops. well...whateverr. -mm♥ |

| Nirvana – Heart-Shaped Box Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i agree with almost the entire translation of the song, the only part i translated differently was "Broken hymen of your highness I'm left black" that's just my opinion though and i didn't feel like putting a new full comment since the rest of your translation of the song is the way in which i see it as well. -musicalmasterpiece♥ |

| Nirvana – Heart-Shaped Box Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| so in this comment what you're saying is that The Sex Pistols had nothing exceptional lyrically...you have got to be kidding me. they had some crappy shit, i'll admit that much. but if you look into the lyrics you might actually see that TSP actually had songs just as great as Heart-Shaped Box. | |
| AFI – Prelude 12/21 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
when i heard this song on One Tree Hill in 2006; i fell completely in love with it, i knew immediately that it was AFI and searched for the lyrics, what i got out of the lyrics is that a guy and a girl are going through a terrible break-up, this is his last plea, almost like a prelude to his suicide note. i highly doubt if this analysis is correct, but that was the immediate impression i got from the lyrics. -musicalmaterpiece♥ |

| Fall Out Boy – America's Suitehearts Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i deffinitly get a sarcastic vibe from it. imo it's mocking the way the media makes celebrities' (america's sweethearts) mistakes look like good things.."I'm in love with my own sins.." etc. but that's just a guess. |

| Fall Out Boy – Golden Lyrics | 16 years ago |

this is really the only song on IOH i truly like. i feel the album as a whole was more industry standard than im used to seeing from FOB which was really dissapointing to me; given i've avidly followed the band since '01. as much as i love this song; "and i saw god cry in the reflection of my enemies" <3 i feel the album was the most dissapointed i've ever been in FOB (as previously stated loved, worshipped, and paid high attention to the band since '01) just given it didn't carry the same tone that EOWYG, TTTYG, FUTC, and now FAD do. but i guess we are judging the song (WHICH I LOVE) here not the album so i'll shut up. |
|
| Fall Out Boy – Golden Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| this seems to be the best interpretation i've found. it also goes along the lines of what i feel the song is about. | |
| Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| "headfirst slide into cooperstown"'s title was about pete rose. who probably won't make it to the baseball hall of fame because of gambling. | |
| Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
i think Folie a Deux is much better; just because it does remind me of the original stuff. the stuff that made me fall in love with FOB. i personally hated nearly everything on Infinity on High because they did change into what the industry standard seemed to be at the time. |
|
| Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i swear though that the ending sounds like some kind of goodbye- whether or not its the last track on the album or not. the way they put all the classic lyrics at the end and such sounds like a good-bye to their fans; it also makes sense that it could be to show(remind) patrick of all their great moments. but i would understand the band taking a break at this point. i would hate it if they did because i love them and their lyrics are sooo amazing and they work so well together. but it just makes me sad when i hear the song and it shows how hard they worked on it because of how beautiful it came out. and in my opinion the references to donny &+ roberta are most certainly in order to show patrick how well he and pete do together because donny &+ roberta made such beautiful pieces of classic lyricism together. either way no matter what its about i cry when i hear it. i have only done as such with one other song in my lifetime. | |
| Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i love this song; even though i cry EVERY time i hear it. i was so moved the first time i heard it. it was like this heartbreaking moment; it reminds me of myself. and then it has all the parts of the past songs at the end; every one of those songs helped me get through bad times. | |
| Fall Out Boy – 20 Dollar Nose Bleed Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
this is right; anyone who pays attention to the FOB interviews knows that they like political references. i was actually going to post that about that verse too(: |
|
| Fall Out Boy – 27 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| i think the title is most deffinitely a reference to the '27 club' since the song has several ohh so subtle drug references in it; i feel this makes the most sense. i also feel that the references to the past could lead to fucked instead meaning to be FUCT which was from what i can tell when the drugs began to become more of a problem than recreation. this is just my opinion but i feel it would make sense that way. | |
| The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| hah; everyone loves the song. and everyone hates yoko. (: | |
| The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| ^^ shitt that wasn't me. | |
| The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| wow; i didn't realize that many people didn't like the beatles. my close friends and i all love the beatles. i only know a few very "musically challenged" people who don't love the beatles. | |
| The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| why would paul write a song to julian to accept yoko? paul hated yoko from the beginning. | |
| The Beatles – Hey Jude Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| this was written after john and cynthia divorced and john was about to marry yoko. it was to comfort julian as his father moved on from his mother. | |
| Cheap Trick – I Want You To Want Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| good point(: | |
| Elton John – Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| the garden could be referring to madison square garden in the viewpoint that it felt empty to be there without john; who we all know was known for his bold spirit. and as for the fact that elton john played this in madison square garden with yoko and sean present. he did so because it was right after the song has become popular and he felt it to be a proper time- with both yoko and sean there...to pay a tribute to his good friend. i believe there was an interview elton john did where he said something along the lines of "it didn't bloody matter how much it hurt me to sing it, his family needed it that night." but i can't seem to find the interview online. | |
| The Killers – Jenny Was a Friend of Mine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| this actually makes more sense than most theories. i never saw midnight show that way...but it does in fact make a lot of sense. i always saw it as him picking up a hooker and thinking of jenny. but that makes much more sense. | |
| The Killers – Jenny Was a Friend of Mine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| brightside isn't part of it. bourbon clearly referenced jenny (Jennifer....) | |
| The Killers – Jenny Was a Friend of Mine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| you can't connect every song to the murder trilogy. the three that the band publicized as the murder trilogy were Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine, Midnight Show, and Leave The Bourbon on the Shelf. just because other songs have a similar lyrical standpoint at certain parts doesn't mean they connect. and as for the albums being the trilogy that would mean that EACH AND EVERY killers song on those albums would be connected to "Jenny" which as we know isn't true. i just think its a stretch to take it to that extreme. | |
| The Killers – Jenny Was a Friend of Mine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
the murder trilogy goes as such: leave the bourbon on the shelf- jenny leaves him and he is depresssed. midnight show- he is with another girl and keeps thinking of jenny, then he recalls strangling jenny and throwing her body in the water (crashing tide) jenny was a friend of mine- he is interrogated by the police about jenny's death, when he speaks about her not being able to breathe it brings back the part of midnight show about taking his baby's breath beneath the chandelier, making it seem that he was trying to comfort her and mistakenly killed her. MR. BRIGHTSIDE IS NOTT PART OF THE MURDER TRILOGY IT IS ENTIRELY UNRELATED...YOU KNOW...TRILOGY...THREE? AND SINCE THESE THREE ARE ALL ABOUT..HMM...JENNY! THEY ARE THE TRILOGY! |
