| Because it seems to be about a long-distance relationship conducted largely through the typed word, I always heard the line as "An 'x' is the best I can do'; IE, he'll never kiss her for real, and can only type the letter to represent the action. Then again, I don't have access to the lyrics that came with the album, but pretending is nice. | |
