I'm surprised nobody has posted or commented on this song. Awesome band.. To me, this song is about a guy talking about a girl he recently broke up with. This girl either struggles with some kind of addiction or deep depression, and even though she would reach out for him so much when they were together, it must have been so bad that he felt there was nothing he could do to help her at the time. But now, he is looking back with regret and almost feeling like he could have done more to help her. "So maybe I’m the one that needed saving Someone to rescue me from myself And now the memories are slowy fading" ^This is him further showing his deep regret of what he didn't do. He feels like he is the one who needs to be saved now because of how badly it eats him alive, or maybe he feels like he wishes someone would have been like "don't give up dude.. keep trying to help her" while it was happening. "Wish I could see me through the eyes of someone else." ^Again, if he was another person looking at him and the situation at the time, he feels like he would be able to realize and recognize that he didn't help enough. "I know I shouldn’t blame myself For what I cannot control It seems so impossible to ever let this go" ^deep down, he knows that there probably was nothing he could do to truly help in the end, but there is still that little voice of shame and guilt in his head telling him otherwise. Just my take.. could be totally wrong. Overall, EXCELLENT track and a great band. |

This album is absolutely amazing, and this is one of the top songs on it. I suggest buying it because you get your money's worth. He's basically telling people who are pissed at the world and think that they have it so bad to stop crying and do something about it rather than be filled with so much self pity. This is very obviously about a relationship.. He is in love with this girl.. and in my opnion, the chorus is a way for him to TRY to deal with him and his girl breaking up. Even though he says he is so much better without her, you can tell that he really misses her. He is just trying to forget her by making the break-up seem positive because she fucked him over.. great song.. i can relate |

This band is great.. whoever was saying that they think it's stupid if they're being serious about the lyrics, you're retarded. This song isn't literally about THEIR lives, it is meant to be a song that all kinds of people can relate to. Some people hate their boss, some guys are too nice and can't get laid and hate it, some people are sick of the shit with their wife, and some people can't stand people who can't drive. Some people are all of the above. It is a great song to crank up on a bad day. I think it is great that they relate to so many people in this song. Their latest CD, scars and souvenirs, it absolutely amazing. |

To me, this song IS about faith and Christianity, but not necessarily because of the reference to "crucifixion, nails, and the crown", but because of other parts of the song. In the intro, he is starting by explaining how he is always faced with so many hard decisions and how he always messes up by making the wrong choice. "Though I feel forgotten, you've carved my name in stone" - to me, this is him talking to God and telling him that even though he feels worthless and alone in the world, he knows that God is always there for him and knows that God promises that he still loves him. "When all else fails remember me." I think he is telling God that even though he knows he screws up on a regular basis, he wants God to remember that he still believes. "This is a blood-oath. They are nothing to me anymore. But your voice means more to me than you'll ever know." He is vowing to God that he is putting behind him evil people/ways of the world, or at least he wants to, and that his word is most important to him. "There's no question, you're the answer. I will find you." He is stating that he knows God is the answer, and eventually he will overcome and live like he should, for God. Just my take.. |
