Haste the Day – Stitches Lyrics 17 years ago
It's all in the connotations of the word, Eclipse.

Hell is used in the sense of the place, rather than "what the hell". The latter is a more profane use of the word, similar to saying "God D---it". And while it's not as severe as taking His name in vain, it's still using it in the wrong way.

I've never actually seen "ass" used in the bible, but I'm 99% sure it refers to the animal (donkey) in that way. The current use is also profane like the above and isn't used in its intended way.

Basically every "curse word" nowadays is a word that originally meant something perfectly fine, but through time gained various other meanings that have little to do with their origins.

Regardless, I have next to no knowledge of this subject as far as what Christ says in scripture, so don't take my comment at face value. I guarantee I'll be looking into the subject in the future so I can better answer the question though.

Anyway, this is an excellent song, even though it's not my favorite from HtD.

You can also get it on the 360. Amazing song, but it's crazy hard on expert. Even expert bass was ridiculous.

Decyfer Down – Burn Back The Sun Lyrics 17 years ago
You guys covered what I got out of this song almost to the T.

@fire: What I think "Burn back the sun" means (and I agree, it is rather confusing if only in the wording) is that it is asking for God to BRING back the sun in a way.

"Burn it so hot that it ignites in my heart." Is the best way I can describe it.
True, the flame never extinguished, but he/she wants it to burn as brightly and warmly as it did once before. He/she wants to be engulfed in it and be restored.

Machinae Supremacy – Legion of Stoopid Lyrics 17 years ago
Quite possibly one of the best MaSu songs out there. The guitar solo (circus-ish) is hilarious in how it fits with the song.

"This is your brain
and this is your brain on Fox news"

I don't prefer any one news organization (nor do I oppose any), but I found this really funny.

Decyfer Down – Fight Like This Lyrics 17 years ago
The way I see this song is that it is about resistance against the temptations of sin.

The first verse is directed towards Satan and sin in general. "Your time is done" says that sin no longer has a hold on them. "I've come too far to lose, so go ahead and try me" = I've resisted thus far, I won't give up now.

The chorus seems to be a summation of the song in its entirety. I read "You've never seen a fight like this before" as saying that "my battle against sin will be unlike anything else, I fully intend on winning".
"...line that I cannot ignore" means I realize now that what I have done is wrong, and now with this knowledge I can fight back.

"Feel the pain, I'm raining down on you" means after all you've done to me (still directed at sin), it's time for me to strike back.
"Cause what I start I will follow through" is fairly straightforward at this point. He/she doesn't intend on giving up now that this fight has begun.

I love this song, and basically the rest of the album as well.
