I love this song heaps - even more in acoustic. I was wondering, in the acoustic version, is there some violin right at the start - after a few notes (is that what you would call it?) on the guitar. It just sounds so perfect, like really suspensfull. I think I've heard that sort of thing in a movie or something before, thats probably why it sounds so good. Anyway, really good song. I love the line 'fire in the breeze, a bitter omen for us all', always makes me think of the smell of the sweet smoke that seems to only catch in the air in the late afternoon. Kisschasy uses their lyrics masterfully - turning language into something much deeper. Love them! xx |

This song - like all Kisschasy songs - is perfect! I really don't know how they do it - pumping out all these beauties! For me the lyric that says the most is the first two lines of the chorus - 'that when we play the beat, it's what i live for, it takes everything away from me'. My take on that is that he can escape whatever shit people put on him for being whoever he is, by absorbing himself in his music - something more and more members of generation x and y are doing. Both the music and lyrics really give you the full-blown effect of his life. I love this! P.S lol out loud if xoxoxjaydexoxox is right (Darren sings 'lets buy supershoes'). I love that bit, it finishes off the song beautifuly! |
